Festive Season at La Lune

Festive season and French fun just go together, so if you’re looking for the perfect spot to book that big family lunch or a holiday catch up when everyone in the group chat is miraculously free, La Lune is ready for you. For bookings of eight plus, they’re offering a special Signature Set Menu, which is basically a festive feast that you might need to unbutton your jeans for.

Featured dishes include pink snapper ceviche with strawberry and mint, house-made terrine, and a casual whole roast duck. You can polish off your deluxe dining experience with something sweet, such as your choice of fromages or the limited-edition Christmas Bûche with wild berries, sorbet and meringue.

If you’re looking for a more intimate vibe, La Lune still has you covered with their Le Salon Privé private dining room, accommodating 8 to 18 guests and perfect for corporate Christmas lunches or bestie birthday celebrations that warrant a little extra flair.

Intuition Wine and Kitchen Set Menus

Gentle ambiance and cosy decor blend seamlessly at Intiuition Wine and Kitchen, the Modern Mediterranean restaurant (with a sprinkle of French flair) nestled on Rockeby Road in Subi. These guys embody everything you want in a Christmas dining experience, from their warm hospitality to their deliciously comforting menu. This year, they've got a couple of festive menu options jingling throughout December, ready for you to tuck into as you unwind from the holiday season chaos.

On Tuesday to Saturday throughout December, Intuition is offering a $95pp tasting menu that gets the whole table involved. Select from a range of starters including foie gas terrine, smoked salmon, and fricassée d'escargots (yep, that means snails), main offerings of spinach gnocchi, duck leg confit, or turkey ballotine, before choosing your dessert of pistachio raspberry choux pastry, sticky date pudding, or mulled red wine créme brûlée.

Then, as the anticipation for the big day starts bubbling over, Intuition will be offering two special festive feasts on Tuesday 23 December and Wednesday 24 December for $85pp and $140pp respectively, including entrées, mains and desserts. Think crispy panzotti, Stirling Range eye fillet, turkey ballotine, and mulled red wine créme brûlée, and on Christmas Eve you'll also receive a glass of sparkling on arrival ('tis the season, after all).

Christmas Laneway Dinner

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose, and the Leedy Laneway Dinner making its highly anticipated return to our Chrissy cals this year; sounds perfect to us! Four Leederville venues will come together on 23 December to host one very long jolly table, like a scene out of a small-town Hallmark movie. 

Electric Lane will be decked with boughs of holly and strangled with strings of Christmas lights as local faves Daph’s Angelwood Pies, Servo, and The Garden each curate a selection of their best seasonal plates, drawing inspiration from classic chrissy spreads we've grown up loving, including locally cured meats, BBQ lamb ribs, skull island prawns, and fruit mince pie for dessert. This will all be served family style for everyone to pass around as they chatter the night away.

Plus, this festive dinner is strategically positioned on Christmas Eve Eve, making it the perfect opportunity to catch up with friends, family heading away, or anyone you can't squeeze in on 25 December. There's a pre-dinner drink and mingle at 6pm, and the first plates drop at 7pm, so book in quick for only $85pp.

Wildflower Festive Flow

Flooded with natural light and showcasing sweeping views of the Swan River, Wildflower isn’t wasting their elegant dining area this festive season. They’re offering a festive edition of FLOW, their signature choose-your-own-adventure culinary journey, featuring three courses of top-shelf summer produce enjoyed high above the city.

This year’s menu is loaded with delicious locally sourced food, including Pemberton marron with cauliflower and ponzu, line-caught snapper with desert lime, and Pardoo Wagyu with hispi cabbage and redback ginger. And save room for dessert, because you don’t want to miss treats like the coconut cake with Geraldton wax and guava, or pumpkin cheesecake with native thyme and parsnip caramel. For $110, you’re getting totally personalised dining spread over an entrée, main, dessert and a special seasonal side, but it’s only for a limited time.

Long Chim Set Menu

Meaning 'come and taste' and serving up fiery festive Thai food over a set lunch and dinner menu, Long Chim is the edgy basement restaurant prime for intimate small groups and jolly large gatherings. This 190-seat restaurant is all about communal-style tables, fast service, and happy chaos, offering Thai street-food inspired cuisine that's packed with all the best spices and lots of love. 

This Christmas, you can book a $79pp lunch or $99pp dinner that will highlight dishes like Miang Prawn, deep fried chicken ribs, barramundi salad, and sweet mango sticky rice. Groups with ten or more guests are required to select the Maa Long Chim dining option for $99pp, offering a few extra share dishes for the full tasting experience.

Petition Kitchen Chef's Selection

Contemporary, lively, and highly regarded in the wine and beer world, Petition Kitchen is the neighbourhood restaurant inviting everybody in this Christmas. It's casual while still feeling special, with a newly expanded alfresco dining area where you can kick back for a long lunch and feel the breeze blow in all the way from the North Pole. 

For $95pp, you’ll receive the share-style chef’s selection menu that takes you through appetisers, entrees, a main and dessert; the whole Christmas package. You can expect dishes like scallop crudo, salt-baked beetroot, market fish, and lamb neck with spiced blueberry sauce, and choose between a hazelnut and chocolate delice with artichoke ice cream, or an apple crumble cheesecake with honey ice cream. The Wine Merchant, the ultimate chic wine bar in the social heart of the State Buildings' Postal Hall, is also getting in on this dining experience, offering a wicked wine list thoughtfully curated by Emma Farrelly to pair with your share plates.

State Cellars Wine Room Set Menu

This is the place you want to lock down for the group dinners where the plus ones just keep coming, because the State Cellars Wine Room is available for bookings of up to 20 guests. Their private dining space is intimate and elegant, perfect for anyone on the prowl for a refined Christmas feast venue. 

There’s a three-course menu for $130pp, or a four-course menu for only an extra $10pp, with dishes like rigatoni pasta with guanciale and chilli, beef tenderloin with Amarone jus, charred eggplant with whipped lemon ricotta, and a wine list that will go down all too smoothly. And don't worry about your sweet tooth, because they've got dessert options of peach and mascarpone crostata with toasted almonds, or citrus and ricotta mousse with a honey pistachio crust. Post Set Menu

For an extra sprinkle of holiday magic and a touch of Italian tradition, Post Restaurant is sharing the tastes, tales and traditions of Italy this Christmas, with a luxurious food selection that encapsulates the simplicity and richness of European flavour with local produce. 

They're offering a three-course set menu for $130pp or a four-course alternative for $135pp, available for lunch or dinner bookings. You can enjoy a delicious taste of Italy with options like beef carpaccio, burrata with seasonal stone fruit, traditional homemade rigatoni, and creamy tiramisu for dessert. Post is also providing private dining for groups of eight or more, and the regal Postal Hall for groups up to 12, because you'll need more space to fit all your Christmas spirit. Buon Natale!
