Spring is just around the corner and we’re oh-so happy. The sun starts to make more of an appearance and nature comes alive with fresh blooms on every corner. There’s nothing quite like the smell of Spring in the air to put a pep in your step.
With all this goodness going on in our own backyard, you’d be silly not to book a cosy escape. Cuddle up in front of the fire and read a book with a glass of red in hand—pure bliss. Ready? Check out 10 of WA’s cutest A-frame and cottage Airbnbs to book this Spring.
The Bootmaker's House
This old workers cottage has been restored to become one of the most stylish accommodation options in one of our fave parts of the State. If you’re thinking of heading here, be sure to book in advance—it’s one of the region’s worst kept secrets. After walking through the main street of Nannup, cook up a hearty meal in the beautiful jarrah kitchen before settling in for the night in front of the fire.
Esperance Chalet Village
If we had to choose one chalet this year, this cute-as-heck A-frame is top of the list. Set in the serene bushland of Esperance, this fully self-contained chalet is a little slice of paradise. There’s a coffee machine (essential), private BBQ on the porch, shared outdoor fire pit, luxe guest amenities and crisp white interiors. Spend your days on the white sandy shores of Lucky Bay and keep an eye out for the world’s friendliest kangaroos. Cook yourself a snag, roast marshmallows in the fire and get tucked in to dream the night away.
This two-bedroom, two-bathroom 100-year-old cottage is one of the sweetest places you’ll ever lay eyes on. A fireplace, giant bathtub and private orchard where you can pick your own fruit will make this one of the most charming getaways you’ve ever had. The interiors are simply stunning, featuring ultra luxe linens, books, antiques and art. The garden with its firepit and views of nature are divine.
Millars By The Lake
Millars By The Lake is a heritage-listed cottage nestled within the historic mill settlement of Quinninup. Our favourite thing about this cottage? Obviously the outdoor bath. We literally can’t think of a better activity than stargazing whilst soaking away every ache and worry that’s ever bestowed you. Karri Lake is a five minute walk away and is an idyllic setting to escape and unwind.
Treetops is a romantic two-storey A-frame chalet just 4 kilometres from the town of Denmark. Tucked between the towering Karri trees, this house set in the trees looks like it belongs in a children’s book. After a day exploring the epic sights of Denmark, get settled in for a vino and a board game in front of the potbelly fire. Heaven.
The Beach Shack Loft
Just by the beach of Gnarabup in the South-West is where you’ll find this extremely cute cottage with its spiral staircase and loft bedroom. Wake up with a coffee in the garden before exploring the nearby beaches, cafes and wineries. If you’re feeling active, you could even try a stretch of the Cape to Cape walk track.
This rural escape is situated on 17 acres of land just south of Bridgetown. Secluded and tranquil, this is where you need to go if you’re in need of winding down. The cottage has been beautifully renovated and has an airy open plan living room and kitchenette. You can sit in the courtyard and bask in the Springtime sun, or get comfy with the indoor wood fire.
This one’s technically considered a chalet but we’ll let it slide thanks to its rustic charm and gorgeous interiors. Decorated with handcrafted furniture, fresh flowers and textiles make this the perfect spot to pour yourself a glass of wine and take in the surroundings. The private deck opens up to 30 acres of woodlands and provides the ultimate holiday view.
Ark Of Denmark
Drive to the top of Karri tree-filled Weedon Hill and walk through wooden and glass cathedral doors into this amazing split level studio apartment. Glass walls, wooden floors and stone features make this one of the unique cottages going round. Soak up awe-inspiring views of the forest from your own verandah and set aside some time for a spot of relaxation in the claw-foot bath. You need to book this one stat.
Balingup Great Escape Cottage
If you’re a fiend for a garden this cottage will be the Spring time escape of your dreams. The views are phenomenal and there’s heaps of walking trails nearby, including the iconic Bibbulum track. It’s also an easy stroll into town where you can get stuck into checking out the local cafes and shops.
