Perth’s Best Private Event Spaces

Planning events is tough. That’s why there are people who do it for a living, because most mere mortals can’t stand the thought of organising food, drinks, decorations and everything else that goes with it, and then having to clean up the next day too!

Luckily, there are plenty of places around Perth who will take on the hard work for you. Whether you need a sit-down dinner for 10 people or a party for 250, here are 12 of Perth’s best private event spaces.

West Leederville

While Hylin works towards opening the small bar of our dreams, they are opening their space to private functions and pop-ups. They’re planning on running movie nights, food truck pop-ups and can cater for just about any party you can think of. Whether you want to do cocktail classes for a friend’s hens, an intimate long table dinner or a rad cocktail party, the team here will sort you out.

North Fremantle

In one of the most beautiful buildings around Perth, Guildhall is a pretty special place to hold an event. With the food coming in from Propellor, drinks flowing freely and a pretty epic courtyard, this is going to be one beautiful party whether you choose to sit down or go cocktail-style.

Lady Of Ro

If you’re looking to entertain a group of around 30, Lady of Ro will happily hire out the whole space if it’s not in their usual trading hours. That means Saturday and Sunday lunch is up for grabs! Whether you’re after a sit down lunch or a beautiful grazing table, they’ll whip up whatever you’re after. Oh, and did we mention they’re BYO?

If you really want to step things up a notch, the private dining room at Wildflower is the only place to do it. Seating up to 20 people and offering some of the most amazing views of Perth, this is one to save for a super special celebration.

The Hardware Store

The Hardware Store in Scarborough are so dang good at hosting events that they had to stop their dinner service on Saturday nights just so they could host more private events to keep the people of Perth happy. They’ll happily put on a sit down dinner for up to 65 people or a cocktail party for up to 100.

We absolutely love Sauma for their dessert cocktails, their lunchtime tiffins and their delish Indian bites, but we also love the fact they can put on one heck of a spread for as little as eight people or as many as 180.

Ginger Morris

South Fremantle

If you haven’t set foot in the courtyard at Ginger Morris then let me tell you, you’re missing out. It’s the perfect spot for anything from a special birthday to an intimate wedding, and the team here will go above and beyond to make sure everything is a breeze for you.

East Fremantle

Barque in East Freo is always a winner, but between you and me, if you’re not in the private dining room you’re doing it wrong. It seats up to 16 people so if you’re planning a more intimate event, Barque is the place to go.

Distribution Lane

Undoubtedly one of Freo’s most unique event spaces, Distribution Lane will happily cater for anything from art shows to weddings and just about anything in between. The old heritage building is made up of a laneway, courtyard and speakeasy style basement so you can make the most of the different spaces. They also allow BYO, huzzuh!

Young George

East Fremantle

Head down to the cellar at Young George for one heck of a party. The venue can hold up 60 people for a sit down dinner or 80 if you prefer to stand and mingle. With a delish menu and one heck of a wine list, this will be a good party no matter what!

The Guildford Hotel

It’s no secret how much we love The Guildford Hotel here at The Urban List, so when we caught wind of the fact you can host a private event here, we were intrigued to say the least. Can we get the cheeseburger spring rolls? What about the ping pong table? The answers are yes and probably if you ask nicely. Take your pick from the Vuadeville Room, the Hiscox Courtyard (with the retractable roof—perfect if you’re worried about the weather) or the 1907 verandah and then let them do the rest!

Mosman Park

If you’ve never been out the back of Tsunami you’d be forgiven for thinking it was just a little ol’ restaurant with some of the finest Japanese food in Perth. But if you head down the corridor you’ll find a beautiful backyard covered in fairy lights which is fit for a king. You can seat as many as 140 people here or 250 for a cocktail event, so you know where to go if you’ve got a lot of mouths to feed!
