Here's a little secret for the truffle tragics: you don't need a restaurant reservation to get your hands on WA's prized black truffles. Every Wednesday to Friday, Truffle HQ in Subiaco swings open its doors, selling freshly harvested Manjimup truffles direct from the farm while stocks last.

Drop in between 9.30am and 12.30pm to sniff, shop and chat all things truffle with the experts behind Below&Above, or simply follow the sign outside when the fresh harvest arrives.

Passing By Project

You might be heading to RAC Arena expecting a concert, comedy show or Wildcats game, but before you go inside, make time for something a little quieter. Passing By Project is a powerful new exhibition transforming the space outside Door 2 into an open-air gallery showcasing the work of 16 emerging young WA artists.

Exploring themes of connection, resilience and the people we too often overlook, each artwork invites you to stop and reflect on the stories unfolding all around us. Better still, every piece is available to purchase, with proceeds supporting both the participating artists and The Salvation Army WA's Youth Services.

Stormie Mills at The Art Gallery of Western Australia

The first solo exhibition by WA artist Stormie Mills is dropping at the gallery: All the secrets are buried between the oceans and the mountains. It captures contemporary urban culture, reflecting on his global movements, personal history, and the encounters that have shaped his practice. His street art is transformational - if you have walked around Perth, you would have spotted his iconic tag. Now, he is bringing this raw urban style inside the gallery walls for a high-impact, personal experience. 

Check out some of the headline pieces, including two 12-metre-long paintings. One channels the chaos of the oceans and the other the harshness of the mountains; together, they explore human vulnerability and resilience. 

The vibe is edgy yet emotionally honest. If you’re looking for something to broaden your mind, this is the exhibition for you. It’s moody, thought-provoking, and stunning, not one to miss!

10 Nights In Port

Fremantle's beloved winter arts festival is back, evolved from the original Fremantle Festival into a celebration of the port city's creative energy. This year's program is thoughtful, immersive and distinctly local, headlined by a striking political cartoon exhibition from Kambarni, a large-scale ceramic installation ('Train Kiln') built live across the festival and ignited on the second-last night, and 'In Our Hands We Hold', a major exhibition led by First Nations women.

Gascoyne Food Festival

One of WA’s most spectacular regional food festivals is officially back, with the return of the Gascoyne Food Festival this August. Expect 16 days of immersive dining, storytelling and bucket-list-worthy travel experiences as the festival transforms the rugged Gascoyne region into a sprawling celebration of food, culture and place.

This year’s lineup includes some truly wild dining experiences, including The Plantation Feast in Carnarvon with Petition Kitchen’s Jessica Roe, Fireside Yarns with Fervor’s Paul “Yoda” Iskov, the outback-style Whalebone Hoe-Down in Exmouth and the iconic Bullara Station Feast. The festival wraps with Australia’s Last Sunset on Dirk Hartog Island, a remote dining experience at the edge of the continent that honestly sounds like the definition of a once-in-a-lifetime dinner party.

Alongside the major events, the Taste of the Gascoyne Food Trails will once again encourage visitors to eat their way through Shark Bay, Carnarvon and Exmouth as local venues hero regional produce.

Fabulous Return of Drag Bingo at The Court

Drag Bingo is back this winter, bringing a whole lot of laughter and sparkle to your average Thursday evening. Perth Charity ‘We are WM’ is serving up their annual bingo fundraiser, hosted at The Court. Far from regular bingo, you can expect phenomenal drag performances, funky music, and ridiculously good prizes, plus their famous raffle. Geoffrey Kay's solo exhibition at Kent Street Gallery is less "nice paintings" and more a deep dive into what it means to be human. Philippa Nikulinsky Book Launch

Calling all WA art lovers! One of the state's most celebrated names is stepping out for a night that's equal parts intimate and iconic. Philippa Nikulinsky AM, the artist behind five decades of stunning botanical and natural history work, is launching her new book For the Seeker Who Walks at COMO The Treasury. She'll be joined by author (and daughter) Angela Nikulinsky, in conversation with Adrian Fini OAM, unpacking the creative process, the stories behind the work, and what it took to bring one of WA's finest back to the page. Drink in hand, great conversation, and a book signing to finish, this is the kind of evening you don't want to read about after the fact.

Rave & Brunch

Two things you probably never thought you would hear in the same sentence, that actually make for a perfect pairing. For its third year running, Rave & Brunch is back to perform a total 90’s and 00’s EDM takeover of The Court. Perth’s favourite daytime rave is back to add a bit more pizzazz to your spring. Why have the Sunday scaries, when you can rave instead?

Guests can expect an array of entertainment, including DJ’s Reuben, Stone Unknown and Wazz. Whether you choose the full experience of both brunch and rave, or skip straight to the dancefloor for just the rave, you’re guaranteed a good time. The Story Of Kooyar

This September, Elizabeth Quay will be transformed into a giant open-air canvas, as an immersive experience of The Story of Kooyar will be displayed for four days. In a spectacle Perth has never witnessed before, Noongar storytelling will be brought to life through a towering screen of water across the Swan. Whadjuk Noongar storyteller, Rose Walley, tells the story passed down from her late mother and respected Elder, Theresa Walley. Rose is also accompanied by her niece and talented artist, Biara Martin, whose illustrations have been transformed for the water display.

The spectacle will feature combining aspects of light, animation, sound and effects to create a euphoric after-dark experience. The story features a message about connection, caring for Country, and the importance of every living thing - no matter what size. Alongside this powerful artistic display, giant red-tailed black cockatoo puppets and live Corroboree For Life performances will be shown at Elizabeth Quay. This performance is a great experience for families, couples and friends to get out to the city and enjoy powerful storytelling.

Dan Costa at Ellington Jazz Club

Jazz heads, mark the calendar. Grammy-adjacent pedigree is landing at Ellington Jazz Club this October. Brazilian-born, London-based pianist and composer Dan Costa touches down in Perth as part of his 10th anniversary world tour, spanning three continents, to perform original, award-winning work recorded alongside genuine jazz royalty such as, Ron Carter, John Patitucci, Ivan Lins, Mike Stern and Dave Liebman, to name a few. His music's been championed by the BBC, 7News and Rolling Stone, so expect a room full of serious listeners for this one. Intimate venue, world-class musicianship, this is one for anyone who takes their live music seriously.

Perth International Burlesque Festival 2026

The curated art form of dancing, tease and glamour returns for its 13th consecutive year to WA. Perth’s favourite travelling burlesque show is hitting not only Perth city, but also regional WA, including stops in Margaret River and Geraldton. Guests can expect a mixture of local and international talent, including overseas acts Raquel Reed and Kelly Ann Doll. First Nations performer, Kitty Obsidian, will also be an accompanying headliner. 

The event focuses on producing a much larger impact overall, championing all aspects of diversity, body positivity and empowerment. Whether you’re a seasoned fan or someone new to burlesque, there is a world of artistic creativity awaiting you this spring. Throughout the entirety of October, the Burlesque Festival will be heading around Perth and WA to entertain you. Strictly 18+ and tickets are on sale now.

Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts

If your gallery-going has been feeling a bit predictable lately, PICA's closing out 2026 with a season that'll fix that. Circular Economies is the headline act, pulling together years of artist residencies from across regional WA—Beverley, Narrogin, Carnamah, Esperance and Carnarvon—into a sprawling mix of photography, textiles, sound and installation that digs into land, memory and community. Upstairs, WA artist Shannon Lyons unveils Cafe coming soon, a set of ambitious sculptural works built specifically for PICA's cavernous West End space, while over in Screen Space, Palestinian artist Jumana Manna's Foragers blends fiction and documentary to trace the practice of wild plant gathering in Palestine. Kick off the season properly with live music and drinks at Friday's free opening party, then come back Saturday for artist talks and workshops. Best part? Entry's free the whole way through.

Telethon 2026

WA's biggest weekend of giving returns to RAC Arena this October, marking another 26 hours of stories, entertainment and community spirit in support of sick kids and their families. This year's lineup includes The Voice coach Kate Miller-Heidke making her Telethon debut, alongside Emma Memma, AFL legends Shane Crawford, Kane Cornes, Campbell "Browny" Brown and Luke Hodge, plus familiar faces from Home and Away, Sunrise and 7NEWS Perth. Last year's event raised a record $90.1 million for 147 charity beneficiaries; expect this one to go even bigger.

Good Day Sunshine is heading back to where it all started. After a stretch of sold-out shows at Gloucester Park, WA's favourite music festival is returning to Margaret River's 3 Oceans Winery for its biggest lineup yet: Matt Corby, Macy Gray (USA), The Cat Empire, The Forever Party, Teischa and Birdland.

Landing right in the middle of Kambarang, the Noongar season of "second spring," Good Day Sunshine has cemented itself as WA's unofficial start-of-summer party, shaking off the last of winter in one of the state's prettiest wine regions. Matt Corby headlines with his one-off WA show, Macy Gray brings three decades of soul classics as part of her Encore Tour, and Aussie stalwarts The Cat Empire round out a stacked day with their trademark genre-blending party sound — plus rising local talent in The Forever Party, Teischa and teen trio Birdland. Given the past two years both sold out well ahead of the date, this is one to lock in early.

Star Wars: A New Hope In Concert

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars changed cinema forever. 50 years on, WASO's bringing the whole saga back to life the loudest way possible. This April, watch George Lucas's original masterpiece projected on the big screen at Riverside Theatre while the West Australian Symphony Orchestra performs John Williams' Oscar-winning score live, note for note, right alongside it. From that unmistakable opening fanfare to the Imperial March, this is the score that basically invented what a blockbuster sounds like, brought to life by an orchestra under the baton of Perth favourite Jessica Gethin. Subtitles are included too, so you won't miss a word of dialogue over the swelling strings. Dust off the lightsaber and get amongst it.

Blue Poles at AGWA

If you thought you'd never see a genuine Jackson Pollock without booking flights to Canberra, think again. Blue Poles, arguably Australia's most famous (and most argued-about) painting, is coming to WA for the very first time, ever. This five-metre-wide explosion of drips, splashes and pure creative chaos has barely left the National Gallery since it was acquired back in 1973 for a then-record price that had the whole country talking. Since then it's made the occasional cameo at MoMA and the Tate, but never once in WA, until now. Landing at AGWA thanks to a loan from the National Gallery of Australia, this is your shot at standing in front of one of the most significant, most valuable (we're talking north of $500 million) artworks in the country. Art buffs and casual gallery-wanderers alike, this one's not to be missed. Oh, and it's free.

While the season kicked off on 9th May, the action continues with must-watch games on 25th July and 5th September. It all culminates with the grand finale on 10th October. So, keep up-to-date to find out who advances to the championship!
