It’s impossible to cruise down Albany Highway without passing by stacks of incredibly cool restaurants, stores and bars on the strip just waiting to be explored.

Whether you’re after a lively spot with plenty of atmosphere, or keen to check out somewhere small and moody for a little date night, we’ve put together some of our fave Victoria Park and East Victoria Park bars to help you get your weekend sorted.

Here are seven of Victoria Park’s best bars to check out.

Vic Park Hotel

After the beloved Vic Park Hotel underwent a massive $2.3 million glow up including a brand spankin’ new airy beer garden and function space—not to mention banging Brazilian-inspired eats courtesy of Head Chef Andre Nunes—grabbing a pint at the local has never looked better. With stacks of room both indoors and outdoors to suit your vibe and the whole family, there’s no better place to soak up some sunshine on a balmy Sunday arvo than here.

Boston Brewing Co

There’s a lot to love about this corner spot—with bright spacious interiors and a super cruisy relaxed atmosphere, this is a great bar to meet up with mates or bring a first date with a massive range of their own great brews, plus an extensive list of fun classic cocktails and some killer wines. You’ll be suitably impressed at how damn good the food is at Boston Brewing Co too—with some of the best share style dishes (their brussel sprouts are God-tier) as well as all of the traditional bar meals you love.

Palace Arcade

Arcade games and cheap pizza deals? Say no more. This fabulous hangout spot keeps the fun rolling with an endless slew of specials across the week—from $10 unlimited games on Wednesday, to $12 Tommy Marg on Thursdays and $10 Bloody Mary’s on Sundays, it seems every day is a winner at Palace.

The ParQ Bar

East Vic Park’s coolest new LGBTQIA+ small bar The ParQ Bar has recently opened and is the ultimate place to catch a bunch of fabulous live entertainment, drag, quiz nights and Sunday sessions each week to cap your weekend off just right. This warm welcoming pad has a fresh zesty cocktail menu to die for, along with some tasty bites and funky tunes spinning that’ll have you boogying in your seats.

Balmoral Hotel

Another legendary favourite with Vic Park locals, The Balmoral Hotel is all about showcasing WA’s best produce and creators in both their menu and their drinks list. This charming warm space boasts plenty of cosy indoor space for those cooler months, and lots of beautiful alfresco seating so that you can make the most of those sunny days too. And with a range of rotating specials, quiz nights and events going down, this is the place to be if you’re looking for a fun night out.

Cosy Del’s

Just down the road from the Vic Park Station (technically in Lathlain) sits Cosy Del’s, a magical homage to all things Northern Italy. This moody, intimate bar and restaurant is passionate about highlighting only the finest of Mediterranean wines and spirits, as well as smashing out some absolutely tantalising dishes from the kitchen as well. Perfect for when you’re after a more sultry atmosphere, we can’t get enough.

The Dutch Trading Co

This craft beer hub and bottleshop absolutely spoils its visitors for choice with an insane array of local and international brews and spirits that have been carefully curated. The Dutch Trading Co puts a modern spin on the classic pub decor with a cool relaxed atmosphere ideal for those looking for a laid back arvo. Even better, their helpful team are experts in their game, and can help you find something tasty to bring home with you to kick on your evening.
