Sydney’s/Eora’s best cafes don’t all lie in the CBD or Inner West. If you head further west, you’ll stumble upon a mecca of buzzing brunch spots and coffee hangouts slinging top brews and brekkie.
Whether you’re a local Westie or curious Sydneysider looking to branch out from your usual spot, Urban List has rounded up the best cafes in Sydney’s west, from Parramatta to Penrith and beyond.
These are the best cafes in Western Sydney right now.
IFTAR
1 Main Lane, Merrylands
Family-run Middle Eastern eatery, IFTAR, is one of the most stunning cafe-restaurants in Sydney’s west. Warm desert hues line the dining room, dotted with marble tables, terracotta-tiled flooring and rattan chairs.
The Big Brekkie Board will have you thinking ‘bout it days later, stacked with fried eggs, labneh, cured meats, zaa’tar manoush and more. For something smaller, there’s a selection of egg-featured dishes paired with shawarma (slow-cooked lamb) and sojok (Lebanese beef sausage), as well as an oven-cooked cheesy basturma fold with your name on it.

Circa Espresso
21 Wentworth Street, Parramatta

Inspired by Melbourne’s laneway cafes, Circa fits all its charm down a little hallway on Wentworth Street. But don’t let its small size fool you—this place pumps out a banging breakfast and incredible coffee.
The ottoman eggs are a Circa signature (that you’ll be thinking ‘bout days later), crafted with poached free-range eggs, crumbed eggplant, creamy garlic labne, fried leeks, and fluffy focaccia drenched in burnt chilli and sage butter. It’s joined by rotating seasonal dishes, like maple-glazed pancakes and portobello mushroom toast.

Circa does some of the best coffee in Sydney, ethically sourcing its beans from farms across Brazil, Ethiopia, Colombia and El Salvador, and roasting them in-house. You can also purchase pouches of the stuff to take home.
Cafe Levant
331 Waterloo Road, Greenacre

When you’re craving a next-level feed, you can always count on Cafe Levant to pull through. The Greenacre cafe is renowned for its standout Middle Eastern brunch, specialty loose-leaf teas served in handcrafted teapots, and Arabic Levantine coffee boiled using a traditional hot sand method.
You’ll have a hard time choosing between the viral Dubai chocolate buttermilk pancakes, the famous cheesy knafeh drizzled in orange blossom sugar syrup, and the massive Sultan’s breakfast board; four eggs your way, sujuk, Lebanese sausage, grilled halloumi, hashbrown, baked beans, pickles, and dipping breads galore—best eaten with your hands.

The Tuckshop
78 Glenhaven Road, Glenhaven

Specialising in feel-good tucker since 2014, this Glenhaven cafe is one of the best cafes in Western Sydney for all-day breakfast. The kitchen slings burgers, brekkie burritos, acai bowls, and top-tier scrambled eggs, while baristas whip up Single O’s smooth coffee from Surry Hills. Tuckshop’s daily-made thick focaccia slices and loaded sandwiches are hands-down delicious too—enjoy on the sunny patio or wrap up to take home.

The Tradie Roll is a semi-secret off-menu item; crispy bacon, fried egg, golden hashbrown and smoky barbecue sauce between toasted milk buns.
Percy Plunkett
146 Station Street, Penrith

Taking its name from local legend Percy Plunkett, who moved into the house with his family in 1928, this 1866-built heritage brick cottage has passed through several owners before becoming a cafe.
Packed with crowd-pleasers and modern brunch creations, Percy’s menu features deep dish pancakes drenched in butterscotch sauce, slow-cooked lamb eggs benedict and a fluffy tiramisu French toast, as well as fun specialty drinks like a Froot Loops iced latte and an iced Milo whip. Book online.

MISC. Parramatta
Little Coogee, Parramatta Park, Byrnes Avenue, Parramatta

This refined Western Sydney eatery is a well-known lunch and dinner hangout, but you can also hoover down a Mediterranean breakfast on weekends. Led by restaurateur and Gogglebox star Jad Nehmetallah, MISC. is a whopping 300-seat venue planted in Parramatta Park with a leafy outdoor space and a warming, relaxed energy indoors.
If you’re going for gold, the shakshuka is a saucy number with sujuk, roast pepper sauce and soft poached eggs baked in a pan with a side of house-made pita for dipping. Book online.

Sabah
Shop 1/52 Carnarvon Street, Silverwater
Image credit: Sabah Sydney | Instagram
Home to the viral, OTT drink creations like iced tiramisu cloud lattes and one of the best strawberry matcha lattes in Sydney, Sabah should already be on your radar. You can also sip your way through pistachio, ube, and mango matcha floats, or stick with your go-to coffee order.
Eggs are done a few ways here: poached and built into a Benedict with tempura soft shell crab and creamy hollandaise, folded over pastrami with herb mayo, or fried gypsy-style and paired with sujuk, labneh, spiced tomato jam, dukkha and Aleppo pepper.

Complete with stunning interiors, Sabah is a great cafe to work from solo, catch up with friends, or bring the fam to—it has an outdoor playground for kids to roam free.
Good Fella
Unit 7, 5 Celebration Drive, Bella Vista
Image credit: Good Fella Coffee | Instagram
Most likely named after ‘90s mobster blockbuster Goodfellas, this cafe-diner in Bella Vista has earned its stripes as Western Sydney’s bagel kingpin. Bagel pros hand-roll and bake dough fresh each morning, dishing up more than ten sweet and savoury combos, from classic smoked salmon beauties and sauce-slathered variations to sweet Nutella creations and limited-edition hot cross bagels at Easter.
Take a seat at a sunken timber table around the huge concrete island, pull up a stool by the window, head out to the sunny alfresco area, or watch it all go down from the overhanging mezzanine.

There’s no doubt Good Fella’s coffee is elite, but have you tried their matcha? Their ceremonial grade, organic matcha is sourced straight from Kagoshima in Japan, and you can also whisk it away at home.
Henri Marc
2/438 High Street, Penrith
Image credit: Henri Marc | Instagram
This unassuming industrial-chic cafe amid Penrith’s High Street Shops is a local favourite, and for good reason. The porridge feels like being wrapped in a warm hug, and the way Sonoma sourdough toast is dressed up requires next-level decorator skills.
The drinks menu is just as dreamy, featuring a top-notch coffee lineup, teas by Teacraft, matcha, house sodas, a hot chocolate with blow-torched marshmallows, and thickshakes with strawberry Nesquik and Milo flavours.

The Barista’s Brekky coffee is a must-try, described as “an espresso, filter coffee and flat white walk into a bar…”
Lucien Baked Goods
111 Phillip Street, Parramatta
Image credit: Lucien Baked Goods | Instagram
From the Circa team, Lucien is an ode to baked goods. It crafts the most beautiful pastries you’ll ever lay eyes on, including flaky pistachio swirls, strawberry matcha croissants, cheesy toasties and savoury scrolls—all baked fresh on-site daily.
The crew switches up the menu often, so we recommend grabbing a bunch and setting up your own pastry tasting—we’ll also take one of each please.
