Christmas is fast approaching which means it’s time to gear up for the busy, festive season and all of the escapades that come along with it.

There’s plenty to plan for, so to help you do just that, we’ve teamed up with The Star Sydney to serve up some of the best feasts to lock yourself in for Christmas Day—no need to do the dishes.

For A Lavish Banquet

We all know Christmas lunch is most enjoyable when you can leave the cooking to someone else. So if you’re looking for us on Christmas Day, we’ll be tucking into BLACK Bar & Grill’s share menu for $195pp. Best come hungry because the three-course feast certainly doesn’t skimp on dishes. Expect entrees like scamp tartare with crispy black rice, chilled oysters with red wine vinegar and shallot dressing, drool-worthy spencer gulf prawns served with avocado, mango, baby gem lettuce and fermented cocktail sauce. And for mains think 28-day aged striploin Angus with asparagus and Yorkshire pudding accompanied by foie gras and sticky shallot sauce, Ox heart tomato salad, jamon iberico, buffalo mozzarella and white balsamic dressing, turkey macadamia nut ‘stuffing’, heirloom carrots and rhubarb chutney. If you have room left for dessert you can tuck into a delightful array of deliciousness including chocolate parfait with cherry, amaretto custard and gingerbread crumble and a seasonal fruit sorbet selection with sable crumble. It's safe to say we’ll be rolling home.

The team will be serving up a $160 share menu that will satisfy all lovers of Japanese food. Get ready for freshly-shucked Pacific oysters with plum wine granita, a sashimi platter of scampi, snapper and tuna, Tajina MBS 9+ sirloin with grilled baby gem lettuce and anchovy dressing, a melt-in-your-mouth nigiri aburi selection, and dreamy sake jelly with cherry, milk ice cream and white chocolate to finish.

For A Seafood Smorgasbord

If you’re on the hunt for more seafood, head to the Flying Fish and indulge in their $160pp share menu. You’ll need to make sure you’re hungry because the decadent feast is seriously fit for a king. Expect mouth-watering prawn toast with fish fragrance, a next-level seasonal seafood platter, the freshest ocean trout wellington with stir-fried spinach and garlic chive, and a hearty roast confit duck leg with pistachio. Desert-wise, it's equally delicious with a generous serving of preserved cherry and passionfruit parfait with salted butter crumb pandan cream and toasted meringue to finish, so be sure to save some room. It's a resounding yes from us.
