sydney's best ocean pools

It’s no secret to those in the know that Sydney’s coastline is dotted with stunning AF ocean pools. Complete with magnificent views, and most importantly, relaxed beachside vibes. These bad boys will have you throwing down your towel and settling in for your next sunny summer session.

To get the most out of Sydney’s long summer days— and even longer nights, we’ve rounded up 6 of the best ocean pools to keep you and your crew sorted.

Bondi Beach

All you beach babes that hate the thought of sand getting everywhere (and we mean everywhere), Icebergs is your answer. With a fully licensed bar at the Icebergs club, you can go for a dip in the pool and relax with a few bevvies while taking in Bondi’s picture perfect views.

Wylies Baths

Coogee Beach

One of Sydney’s most beautiful ocean pools is on the coastal walk just south of Coogee beach. Overlooking the ocean, all the way out to Wedding Cake Island, it’s easy to see why the locals keep this one a secret. Post swim get your lounge on at the outdoor massage therapy centre, or simply snooze on your towel to the sound of calming waves. We feel zen already.

Dee Why Rock Pool

Dee Why Beach

Perfectly positioned next to the promenade, the Dee Why rock pool is 50 meters in length and made from a sturdy combination of natural sandstone and concrete walls. This is an ideal place to bring small humans after school for a paddle, or for lazy big humans to sit and chill.

Bronte Baths

Bronte Beach

The Bronte Baths pretty much define summer relaxation in Sydney. Located at the southern end of one of our favourite beaches, don’t make plans for the rest of the day because we can guarantee that you won’t ever want to leave!

Figure 8 Pools

Royal National Parks

The Figure 8 Pools are a cluster of naturally formed rock pools, hidden between the coastal headlands in Sydney’s Royal National Park. This geological site crops up in instagram feeds on the reg, but a word to the wise, be careful. The tide has been known to surprise a few people and you’ll want to watch your step on that seaweed. But for all the risks, these are still some of the most beautiful ocean pools in Australia and totally worth the trip.

Ivor Rowe

South Coogee

Just a stone’s throw away from Coogee Beach and Trenerry Reserve, Ivor Rowe is one of the smallest ocean pools along the East Coast. But as we all know, when it comes to the best ocean pools in Sydney, size doesn’t matter. Ivor Rowe is naturally forming, and shallow, making it the perfect spot for a quick dip (or sit) on a hot summer’s day.
