You’ll knock out hump day like a champ this week, ‘cause it seems like we’re looking at a midweek high! Whether you’re into Instagramming neon lights, drooling over donuts, getting cardio done at the mall or classy dining, this Wednesday’s gonna be awesome.

For twelve sweet, sweet hours of discounted bargain bliss this Wednesday, Melbourne’s biggest retail players will open their doors to our city’s keenest shopaholics for a day of discounts, sales, free food and killer events. We’re of course talking about our favourite sale extravaganza event—Shop The City. Melbourne Central, Emporium Melbourne, QV Melbourne, Melbourne’s GPO and The Strand Melbourne will together play host to 300 massive sales from big-name brands including H&M, Windsor Smith, Bonds, Country Road, Topshop, Ted Baker London, UNIQLO and Michael Kors just to name a few, which means your dream winter wardrobe just became a reality. Matcha Mylkbar and Butterbing—two of Melbourne’s sweet treat Kweens—will also make an appearance, giving away FREE goodies throughout the day, plus there’ll be a snowing lane and donut festival!

Hey, Good Beer Week’s still on! For one night only, past the stained glass windows of St Paul’s Cathedral, there’ll be an exclusive selection of wild and sour ales from La Sirene & 3 Ravens, along with one-off handcrafted cheeses from Stone & Crow Cheese Co. And where there’s food and drink, there’s gotta be music. Experience a live opera performance that’ll blow your socks off, led by the internationally renowned Liane Keegan, Carlos E. Bárcenas Ramírez, Juel Flemming and celebrated concert pianist Stefan Cassomenos. Pray you don’t miss out on this heavenly assault on the senses.

Masterchef judge Matt Preston is hosting an intimate FIVE-course dinner of delicious food from Cumulus Inc. and stellar wines from Curly Flat Vineyard, Sutton Grange Winery and House of Farras. Plus it's all for a good cause: money raised from the dinner goes to help refugees seeking asylum and youths facing barriers in the working world. Scarf, the social enterprise behind it all, have got prizes money CAN'T buy from the likes of Movida, Anchovy, Lucy Liu, Ochota Barrels, STARWARD Whisky, Adelphi Hotel, Simon Johnson, Bistro Gitan and Trattoria Emilia.
