Melbourne has a bit of everything this week, from a seaside food truck festival to a jazzy circus act; we even have a film series kicking off at ACMI! Better start planning your week now.
Here are 5 awesome things to do in Melbourne this week:
A Taste of Scotland
There’s nothing wrong with a cheeky weeknight whisky. Highlander Bar are hosting an introduction to Scottish culture this Tuesday night where you’ll be able to tuck into a three-course Scottish dinner with 3 single malt whiskies and live entertainment. Tickets are $75 a head and all the info can be found here.
Seaside Street Food Festival
The Food Truck Park are taking a road trip down to Frankston this week to bring us a delicious line-up of food, beer, cider, wine and live entertainment right on the waterfront! Kicking off this Wednesday, the festival will run for five days and feature a rotating line up of gourmet cuisine so make sure you check out the event for all the details.
Scotch and Soda
This Wednesday the Wonderland Spiegeltent presents the first show of Scotch and Soda. This jazzy circus act is set in a dusty parallel universe, somewhere between depression era travelling circuses and 19th-century European carnivals. With fantastically uproarious junkyard jazz, Scotch and Soda is a genre-bending party that will get your hands clapping. Check out all the info here.
Lies and Secrets Film Series
ACMI is kicking off its Lies and Secrets film series this Thursday with a program of award-winning documentaries. If you’re up for some series film watching then this is definitely for you. The four film program features Zero Days, National Bird: Drone Wars, The Land of the Enlightened and Jim: The James Foley Story. The series runs until the 25th of October with different films being screened each day. Tickets start at $13 and you can grab them (and check out the full program) here.
One For The Diary…
On Saturday the 15th of October, Polēpolē and Glamp are bringing us a Zoofari Masquerade Party. Running from 11pm to 3am, free masquerade masks will be provided upon entry (which is also free!) and $10 cocktail specials will run all night! Internationally Renowned Burlesque & Snake Charmer Sina King will provide entertainment and Speranza Drum-Live and DJs will be playing across 2 levels. Definitely one to put in the calendar.
