Dark Mofo, Australia’s favourite hedonistic celebration held in June each year, has been cancelled due to concerns around Coronavirus.
The news comes as other events across the globe have thrown in the towel due to the virus posing a potential threat to attendees, performers and ticket sales alike, with Austin’s SXSW cancelling their 2020 event most recently.
Dark Mofo broke the details earlier this morning in a way that’s reflective of the festival’s ethos itself, outlining the cancellation with a social post referencing Shakespeare’s Henry V. Further details can be found in their statement for those after more information.
While the festival won’t be taking place in 2020, headliner Bon Iver will still take to the stage as part of their Australian tour, which comes as a silver lining to many who were planning on making the pilgrimage town to Tasmania in June.
