As one of the city's most established bakeries—and supplier to many of New Zealand's major food retailers—Loaf will continue to have your back throughout Level 3. These guys stock a whole raft of tasty goodies from freshly baked bread and doughnuts (or cronuts, if you want to get really serious) through to pre-packaged slabs and slices. Plus, they've got 6kg bags of flour up for grabs should your local supermarket run out. Delivery available Auckland-wide.
It's no secret that we're big fans of Daily Bread, whose appetite for all things baked has spawned stores in Point Chevalier, Ponsonby and Newmarket. Head online to nab yourself one of their signature sourdough loaves, droolworthy new cinnamon and brown butter doughnuts or famously good pies (which, BTW, we've crowned some of the best in Auckland). Delivery available throughout most of Auckland.
Bread & Butter
Bread & Butter have long held a place in our carb-loving hearts thanks to their yummy pastries, cakes and of course bread. As fans of the sweet stuff, it's hard for us to go past their melting moments and Portugese tarts (which both come in a rather dangerous six-pack). Delivery available throughout most of Auckland.
Citysiders, you're in luck—Little Bird are making their tasty (un)baked treats available to you throughout Level 3. Choose from their drool-worthy cheesecakes, slices or tarts (the banoffee pie and chocolate raspberry donuts are an absolute must), followed by one of their popular cleanses or juice boxes, which are also up for grabs. Delivery to select Auckland suburbs only.
Stock up your pantry with one of Dough Boys' artisan bread boxes. Available in a range of options, these babies are filled with goodies that can be enjoyed fresh, or frozen and used later (that kumara loaf has our name on it). They also sling some killer pies and saussie rolls, and DIY pastry kits if you're keen to do a little baking of your own. Delivery available Auckland-wide.
Little French Pastry
With a name like Little French Pastry, you know you're getting the crème de la crème when you buy from these guys. Pretty little tarts, macarons and pastries are all on the menu here, but be in quick—they're flying out the door faster than you can say oui-oui. Delivery available Auckland-wide.
Pandoro are old-hands at the baking game, and are keeping our carb levels at full capacity with their artisan breads, cakes and biccies. Oh, and a little birdie also told us they have flour—the high grade variety, no less. Delivery available throughout most of Auckland.
The Midnight Baker
We first fell in love with The Midnight Baker back in 2016, when they opened the doors to their amazing 'toast' cafe (wheat, gluten, yeast, nut and refined sugar-free toast, that is). While said cafe may now be closed, fans of this wholesome brand can still get their much-loved Freedom loaf online—either in fresh or pre-mix form—as well as other treats like choc chunk cookies. You'll also find their bread at your local Farro store. Delivery available Auckland-wide.
Gourmet Gannet (home to some of the best baking in West Auckland) are running a delivery service for locals every Friday. Load up on their sourdough, croissants and sweet treats like salted caramel brownie for the ultimate carb-fuelled feed. Delivery to select Auckland suburbs only.
Keep those carb cravings at bay with Paneton's range of fresh, frozen and ready-to-bake breads and pastries. Established by Frenchman Dominique Colombie (whose father ran a well-known bakery in the south-west of France) and his wife Celia, this brand is well-loved here in Auckland and why wouldn't it be? It's legit delish. Be sure to check out their yummy quiches—one of the items that first put them on the baking map. Delivery available Auckland-wide.
The Pie Piper and Doornuts
Praise the bakery Gods—The Pie Piper and Doornuts are now also offering home delivery (however please note, this is limited to specific days and suburbs only). Their authentic American donuts, cakes and sweet pies are just the pick-me-up your Level 3 self needs, so take our advice—and stock up large. Delivery to select Auckland suburbs only.
Grab yourself a slice of one of Magnolia Kitchen's 'gram-worthy cakes, or cook up a storm with their hugely popular baking kits (think macadamia white chocolate brioche, chewy choc chunk cookies, basic brownie and banana loaf). They also sell frozen cookie dough, baking staples, and ready-to-eat treats like fudge and marshmallows, should you feel like something sweet, but can't be assed making it. Furthermore, owner Bernadette Gee has put together a series of online courses for those wishing to up their baking game—just in case you wanted to create a Magnolia Kitchen masterpiece of your own. Delivery available Auckland-wide.
Huckleberry isn't a bakery per se, but they do sell some rather tasty pre-packaged bread through their online store. They're an especially good spot for finding some of the more unusual loaves on the market, like Dovedale's keto hemp bread. Delivery available Auckland-wide.
