With a name like Little French Pastry, you know you're getting the crème de la crème when you buy from these guys. The Midnight Baker
We first fell in love with The Midnight Baker back in 2016, when they opened the doors to their amazing 'toast' café (wheat, gluten, yeast, nut and refined sugar-free toast, that is). We've been fans of this wholesome brand ever since, and are stoked to hear their popular Freedom Loaf is still available throughout the lockdown, in either fresh or pre-mix form. Olaf's Artisan Bakery Cafè
Carb-lovers, prepare yourselves—because award-winning artisan bakery, Olaf's have announced that they too are taking orders online. Yes, almond croissants, baguettes, and pain au raisin could all be winging their way to your door in as little as a day, along with other European-inspired treats, including a decadent Belgian chocolate log. Established by Frenchman Dominique Colombie (whose father ran a well-known bakery in the south-west of France) and his wife Celia, this brand is well-loved here in Auckland and why wouldn't it be? Magnolia Kitchen's 'gram-worthy cakes may be off the menu right now, but their hugely popular baking kits certainly aren't. Take your pick of macadamia white chocolate brioche, chewy choc chunk cookies, basic brownie and banana loaf, with gluten-free and allergy-friendly options also available (hallelujah!). They also sell baking staples (flour, instant yeast, baking powder and baking soda), and ready-to-eat treats like fudge and marshmallows, should you feel like something sweet, but can't be assed making it. Furthermore, owner Bernadette Gee has put together a series of online courses for those wishing to up their baking game—who knows, maybe you'll get that Magnolia Kitchen cake after all. Huckleberry isn't a bakery per se, but they do sell some rather tasty pre-packaged bread through their online store. They're an especially good spot for finding some of the more unusual loaves on the market, like Dovedale's keto hemp bread. Delivery Auckland-wide.
