What's On Thursday 5 June

Socceroos World Cup Qualifier at Optus Stadium

Witness the excitement as the Socceroos face Japan in the FIFA World Cup Qualifier this Thursday night. Gates open at 5.15pm, with the kick-off at 7pm. Optus will be providing epic pre-show entertainment including plenty of food and beverage options, live music performances, light shows, face painting and other fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. Hidden Treasures 

Hidden Treasures is Walyalup (Fremantle's) long-running music series known for unearthing new talent in unexpected venues in North Fremantle and Hilton. This Thursday kicks off the series in the original festival venue: Buffalo Club. Abbe May, one of Australia's most respected songwriters and enigmatic performers, was selected as one of four co-curators and put forward musicians of varied genres. Thursday you can expect to see Lazor Gator, Mariana, Stella Cain and more that you can check out here. PomTown at The Camfield

The Camfield is transforming into Britain for the day on Saturday, and it’s going to be huge. PomTown is bringing together authentic food (think chips and gravy, pies and other snacks), live bands playing your fave British anthems, a wide range of British drinks and heart-warming vibes (it’s simply impossible to leave without a new bunch of mates). Running from 3pm to 11.30pm, they’re expecting over 2,000 Brits to walk through the doors. Last year’s tickets sold out quickly, so secure yours here.

Yagan Square Live

Yagan Square is bringing high-energy K-pop dance, music and performances to the heart of Perth this Sunday at their K-pop Party. Every week, new and exciting live acts take over the Square, providing the perfect excuse to head down and take a wander through the city before experiencing one of Perth’s best music scenes. Taking place between 2pm and 4pm, there are plenty of incredible dining spots in the vicinity to settle into afterwards, including The Shoe, Hiss & Smoke and Street Eats Eatery. Taste The Square at Yagan Square

Get ready to taste, toast and indulge with Taste the Square, ten days of unforgettable dining experiences coming to Yagan Square this winter. From Wednesday 4 to Sunday 15 June, explore a lineup of intimate tastings, hands-on culinary adventures and inspired pairings, right in the CBD. There is a sweet lineup for this week, from bourbon and brisket masterclasses to an Italian kitchen-style degustation with friends. Sip, snack and uncover your future with tarot readings and tequila, or journey through global flavours with a progressive tasting trail—all without leaving Yagan Square. Arrival Festival

ARRIVAL is a brand new winter non-profit music festival arriving in Fremantle. It will be held across three venues: The Naval Store, PS Art Space and the Buffalo Club. This year is set to focus on live music, with next year expanding to include an arts program as well. Artists on the lineup this year include Jessica Pratt, Bktherula, DIIV, Mount Kimbie and more. There are shows running from Wednesday June 4to Sunday June 8, see the detailed lineup here. Perth Caravan & Camper Expo at Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre

If you’ve got the travel bug or are always keen for a road trip in our beautiful country, then head to the Perth Caravan & Camper Expo this weekend to browse through their epic selection of vendors. Perfect for WA touring fanatics, this indoor expo presents the latest caravans, trailers and products perfect for our WA conditions. Whether you’re on the hunt for a big purchase, or just looking to browse, this expo is not one to miss. Vendors on the lineup include Snowy River Caravans,  Abba Caravans,  Austrack Campers, Yeti,  and so many more that you can check out right here. Plating Up WA

Buy West Eat Best is once again Plating Up WA this June. To celebrate WA’s incredible produce, select venues will be plating up WA-inspired dishes. There are heaps of venues across the state participating this year, bringing a variety of dishes to your table ranging from breakfast to dinner, and accommodating a range of dietary restrictions too (GF, nut-free, vegetarian, dairy-free and more). Winter Blooms at Elizabeth Quay

Winter Blooms has officially been unveiled in EQ, lighting up the river’s edge with vivid art projections to welcome the season of Makuru. For the month of June, take a stroll through EQ after 6pm to witness its transformation into a glowing garden of illuminated flowers. It’s the perfect winter evening trip, where you can settle into the nearby eateries or rug up and enjoy a lovely walk while admiring the beautiful art displays.

Quarter Acre Glampcation Tents

If you're feeling a bottomless but glamping style, then look no further than the Quarter Acre Hotel. They're back with their Glamp-Cation, a feast offered inside a cosy glamping tent, serving shared delights such as toasted focaccia, caramelised onion dip, grilled chorizo, mini pies, brie, cranberry scrolls and more for $45pp. If you want to elevate your experience, you can add bottomless bevvies for $35pp, which includes mulled wine, select tap beers and wines as well as soft drinks and juices. The Coeliac Australia GF Expo is back in Perth this June, taking over the Jim Webster Pavilion at the Claremont Showgrounds. The expo offers a trusted space for the GF community to discover GF products, learn from leading dietitians and medical specialists and take part in a variety of tastings.
