People always say this time of year can be the most depressing in Sydney, and we would have to disagree. This week in Sydney there is a whole lot going on, mostly to do with wine and great food so we’re not complaining. From a pop-up restaurant inspired by a childhood classic to Burgundy wine tastings to manicures and martinis at a pub, there’s a little something for everyone!

A BFG Pop-Up Restaurant

In celebration of The BFG coming to cinemas, KOI Dessert Bar is transforming itself into a pop-up restaurant, called Rotsome, inspired by this childhood favourite. The Gobblefunk menu of three courses promises to stimulate the senses and create an immersive BFG experience by being deliciously disgusting! To be eligible for this wonderful experience, all adults (or giants) must be accompanied by a small human (chidlers) over the age of six. It’s on a first-come first-served basis, so make sure you get there in time to score yourself a table!

What: Rotsome
Where: KOI Dessert Bar, Chippendale
When: Please note the date of this event has change to Monday 4th July, from 1pm to 6pm

Vermouth Hour At Since I Left You

We love happy hours here in Sydney and we think we have found the happiest one this week! Sydney bar, Since I Left You has joined forces with Oscar 697 to present Vermouth Hour, from 5 to 7pm (so actually two very happy hours) until Thursday this week. Since I Left You offers both a straight serve option of Vermouth or an inventive cocktail. To complete this European style experience, they have designed matching tapas served complimentary with each drink! ‘The Fat Tony’ cocktail, which is a reverse of a Dirty Manhattan will be served with a Vermouth-pickled rockmelon in maple-glazed prosciutto. Umm, yum.

What: La Hora del Vermut (or Vermouth Hour)
