Folks, we can see the light at the end of this long, wintery tunnel, but, until we get there, let's enjoy the best of what Sydney has to offer this month. Our August Market Calendar will have you choosing from the freshest of organic produce, rifling through racks of vintage essentials, discovering new and up-coming Aussie designers and of course tasting some delicious food. Here at The Urban List we're all about the markets, so grab your coat and head on down for some winter festivities!    

We've put together our pick of the best markets in Sydney for August—happy shopping!

EASTERN SUBURBS

EQ VILLAGE MARKETS | MOORE PARK

Located just 10 minutes from the CBD, the EQ Village Markets are the perfect place for all you foodies out there (us included!). Meander around the various stalls to purchase some of the best, farm-fresh produce from regional and local growers and, while you're there, indulge in some tasty gourmet treats and some gorgeous blooms for the house.
Where: Entertainment Quarter, Fox Studios, 122 Lang Road, Moore Park
When: Every Wednesday and Saturday of the month, early – 3pm

DOUBLE BAY MARKET | DOUBLE BAY

The best way to spend your Thursdays is heading on down to the Double Bay Market located in the beautiful, sunny grounds of Guilfoyle Park. Get your organic goodie fix, catch some rays, and nibble on some delicious food and sweets (carrot cake, Guinness Brownies, puffy meringues… Need we say more?). The Double Bay Market offers some awesome crafts, eco products, plants, and fresh flowers, too.

When: Every Thursday 9am-2pm

PADDINGTON MARKETS | PADDINGTON

Offering a lil' bit of everything, the Paddington Markets are a true treasure trove. Explore the grounds of the church and public school and take in the plethora of fashion, art, jewellery, homewares, and food on offer. Chill out to the live music, bask in the sun, and soak in the buzzing atmosphere!
Where: 395 Oxford Street, Paddington
When: Saturdays 10am – 4pm

BONDI FARMERS MARKET | BONDI BEACH

Home to all things yummy, fresh, and locally produced, Bondi Farmers Markets sure earns its' place on our list of favourite weekend activities in Sydney. Be sure to head down with an empty tummy so that you can try all of the delicious goodies on offer!

SYDNEY SUSTAINABLE MARKETS FARMERS MARKET | DARLINGHURST

Igniting a sustainable food revolution, Sydney Sustainable Markets is all about bringing seasonal produce straight from the farmer to your dinner plate, with fresh fruit and veggies, free-range poultry and eggs, fish, handmade pasta, rare-breed meats, artisanal cheeses, organic breads, and the list goes on! Sydney Sustainable Markets is one of Sydney's best food markets, with an eco-friendly and community-conscious focus!

When: Every Saturday of the month, 8am – 1pm

BONDI MARKETS | BONDI

Enjoy the chill Bondi vibes, while moseying around the eclectic stalls at the Bondi Markets. Find one-off, up-and-coming designers' pieces, cool crafted leather goods, eyewear, and art, or brighten up your place with a lovely bunch of flowers.

SURRY HILLS MARKETS | SURRY HILLS

Bit of a bargain hunter, are you? Then Surry Hills Market is the place for you! Rummage through and find the best handmade, vintage, and recycled fashion, homewares, furniture, and other little knick-knacks. Help fund the Surry Hills community projects with your purchases and get in nice n' early to get dibs on the best!
Where: Shannon Reserve, Crown Street, Surry Hills?
When: Tuesday, August 2nd, 7am – 4pm

NORTH SHORE & NORTHERN BEACHES

FRENCHS FOREST ORGANIC FOOD MARKET | FRENCHS FOREST

Head down early to Frenchs Forest Organic Food Market for a freshly brewed coffee and a delish healthy brekkie, before you peruse the stalls for your organic locally produced fruit and veg.  Jumping castles and pony rides will entertain the kids while you sip and eat.

MANLY WEST ORGANIC MARKET | MANLY

Offering all organic products, Manly West Organic Market is a must-go destination for those looking for the best markets in Sydney. Test out the organic skin and hair care products, cosmetics, teas and coffees, as well as the food! Treat yourself and your health with this Sydney market's goods!

When: Every Saturday of the month, 8am – 1pm

HORNSBY ORGANIC FOOD & FARMERS MARKETS | HORNSBY

Give yourself a well-deserved break from cooking and let the excellent people at the Hornsby Organic Food and Farmers Markets treat you with a healthy, fresh, and delicious, take-away lunch (or dinner) option. While there, get your organic fruit and veggie shopping done, green up your life with some plants and flowers, and check out the eco and fair-trade goods on offer.

THE BEACHES MARKET | WARRIEWOOD

Our friends over at the Northern Beaches sure know a good thing when they see it. Join them at The Beaches Markets each Friday and get some food (straight from the farm) on your fork in time for the weekend!

NORTHSIDE PRODUCE MARKET | NORTH SYDNEY

Over the last 15 years, the hard-working farmers and producers from Northside Produce Market have been bringing North Sydney-ers the best from across regional New South Wales. Having already won Sydney's Best Market from the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Shopping Guide, we say bring on the cheeses, fruit and veg, herbs, and flowers. And don't go past the organic sourdough and spelt breads (yum!).
Where: Civic Centre Park, 220 Miller Street, North Sydney?

KIRRIBILLI ART & DESIGN MARKET | MILSONS POINT

With a gorgeous view over the harbour, Kirribilli Art and Design Market is a funky, lively market and home to some of Sydney's best artists and designers.  Invest in some original paintings, glass ceramics, fashion and accessories, millinery, homewares, and fresh flowers. What better way to spend a Sunday?

CITY & INNER SUBURBS

GROWERS' MARKET | PYRMONT

Offering a huge range of over 70 different fruit & veg, meat, seafood, and gourmet treat stalls; the Grower's Market in Pyrmont is the perfect place to get all your food shopping done! Be sure to check out the monthly speciality displays.

EVELEIGH FARMERS' MARKET | EVELEIGH

Located within the eclectic, revamped Carriage Works, the Eveleigh Farmers' Markets will have you strolling among a wide selection of biodynamic, seasonal, and organic produce, sipping on boutique wines, coffee and tea, tasting savoury and sweet goodies, and stocking up on brightly coloured blooms.  Love it!

THE ROCKS FOODIES MARKETS | THE ROCKS

If you're anything like us, here at The Urban List, we love our food, so naturally we love the Rocks Foodies Markets. Head down to get your fill of homemade wraps and burgers, Turkish gözleme, mini Monet cupcakes, homemade chocolates, and more.

THE ROCKS WEEKEND MARKETS | THE ROCKS

Nestled among the historic buildings of Sydney's oldest suburb, the Rocks Weekend Markets offers a fine array of locally produced goods. Discover hand-made homewares, organic beauty products, photography, fine jewellery, and art.

INNER WEST

ORGANIC FOOD & FARMERS MARKET | MARRICKVILLE

Get out of the house and head down to the Marrickville Organic Food and Farmers Markets for plenty of activities for the family, a chilled atmosphere, and an awesome organic food range.

GLEBE MARKETS | GLEBE

Glebe Markets is one of Sydney's mainstay market institutions. Offering an extensive range of goods, from vintage clothing, to records, knick-knacks, hand-made jewellery, skin care, and gourmet food stalls—there is something to please everyone! Sit in the sun, chill out to the live tunes, and tuck into a delicious feast of market-bought goodies.

NEWTOWN COMMUNITY MARKET | NEWTOWN

The Newtown Community Market is a quaint square where Newtown's artists and craftsmen flock to feature their latest products. Browse the stalls and wander down rambling King Street to find a spot to eat!

ROZELLE MARKETS | ROZELLE

Calling all treasure hunters and vintage lovers! Rozelle Markets is an iconic vintage pit stop where you'll find antiques, fashion, knick-knacks, and books. When you're exhausted from your treasure expedition, grab a snack at one of the many food stalls!

WESTERN SUBURBS

PARRAMATTA FARMERS' MARKET | PARRAMATTA

A perfect way to kick off the weekend, be sure to check out Parramatta Farmers' Markets on Friday mornings to get all of your seasonal and local produce. Aside from fruit, veggies, and meats, there's a wide selection of breads, honeys, nuts, and cakes (delish!). Get down there early to enjoy a healthy, freshly cooked brekkie!
Where: Church Street Mall, Parramatta?
When: Every Friday of the month, 7.30am – 2pm

CASTLE HILL FARMERS' & FINE FOOD MARKET | CASTLE HILL

In this case, the name explains it all, as the Castle Hill Farmer's and Fine Food Market offers exactly that—fine food! Designed to please even the most ardent foodies with its huge array of fresh produce featuring the best of what the regions purveyor's have to offer.
Where: Castle Hill Showground, Doran Drive (entry via Showground Road), Castle Hill?
When: August 9th and 23rd, 8am – 12pm

PENRITH FARMERS' & FINE FOOD MARKET | PENRITH

Hosted on the first Saturday of every month, Penrith Farmers' and Fine Food Market is home to a delicious selection of fresh and seasonal produce, from meats, to fruit and veg, to oils and pasta, and even bread. Enjoy the live music and buzzing atmosphere with plenty of organised activities to keep the kids entertained for hours, while Mum and Dad can enjoy a well-deserved organic cup of coffee and a delicious brekkie roll.  
Where: Outside the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, 597 High Street, Penrith?
When: 1st Saturday of every month (2nd August), 8am – 1pm
