Tucked atop a stairway off Elizabeth Street, Govindas offers hearty Indian vegetarian meals with plenty of vegan options too. This low key space is cafeteria style, but offers a really chilled out vibe away from the busy city streets. You’ll find them selling really tasty mixed vegetable curries, split mung dhal, pappadams and salads as well as vegan cakes, chocolate mousse and trifle.
If you’re in a rush and need your vegan lunch to go, stop in at Vege Rama at Post Office Square. This place has you covered with a huge selection of healthy and delicious plant-based foods. Options include sweet potato gnocchi, cannelloni, a very yummy veggie burger, tacos, pizzas and many, many more. You won’t go hungry at Vege Rama!
For a sit-down lunch to soothe your vegan fire, visit Kitchen Sanitarium on Eagle Street. Here you’ll find a menu with loads of vegan-friendly options, including a very delicious falafel wrap and a whole range of tasty salads. You’ll also find them serving up a great Asian mushroom noodle stir fry, daily chef’s curry and an insanely good lentil and five bean chilli.
Located at Post Office Square, the focus at Thr1ve is on clean, healthy food that nourishes your body. So it’s no surprise there are a number of yummy vegan lunch options available. The trick here to create your own vegan feast off their ‘Build Your Own’ menu. Try a base of wild and brown rice, leafy greens or zucchini noodles topped with quinoa, kaleslaw and tahini dressing, finished off with smashed avocado or chilli and almond broccoli. Holy yum.
Kiss The Berry
For a quick, delicious vegan lunch, you can’t go past Kiss the Berry on Creek Street. Their bowls are not only tasty, they’re also a great way to cool down on a hot day. While some bowls contain yoghurt and honey, many do not. Try the Snickers Delight, Watermelon Split or Green Machine bowls. They also have a rotating menu of seasonal bowls that will have you coming back for more, day after day.
If you find yourself in a situation where your boss is offering to pay for lunch, book yourself a table at Urbane. This fine-dining spot on Eagle Street offers up the 5 or 8 course vegan degustation of your veggie-loving dreams. The menu can include a whole range insanely good bites, created with seasonal, fresh and local ingredients, with wines to match. It’s a meal that will have you dreaming about it for days to come.
Raw ’n Juicy
This low-key juice bar, located on Adelaide Street, uses organic ingredients to supply fresh raw juices, smoothies and salads to hungry Brisbanites. Raw 'n Juicy offer a whole range of yummy fresh salads, like beetroot and chickpea, as well as fresh fruit served with coconut yoghurt, vegan pizza, cakes and more.
