Ah December! The most wonderful time of the year, except for thinking of all those gift ideas. Lucky for you, Melbourne, there are tons of awesome markets on this month, and they have your gift giving sorted. No danger of doubling up on Mum's present this year. No, sir. 

Of course, there’s plenty of food and drink stalls too to keep you fed and hydrated too. Welcome to Melbourne's December markets.

Big Design Market


Forget busy shopping centres—the Big Design Market has your chrissy gifts sorted. From overalls to doonas, there are tons of designers bringing you all the quirky little gifts you can think of. There’s also workshops where you can get a little dose of craft and DIY.

Moonlit Market


There’s just something badass about wondering through a market as the sun goes down. The Moonlit Markets have around 60 stalls from local designers and artists. There’s all the usual suspects: pop-up bar, sweet treats and live music.  Get some Fancy Hanks or Toasta in you belly. You know us too well, market-organiser-dudes.

Piccadilly Market


This little beauty is on for one day only, and it's full to the brim with awesome gift ideas, Christmas goodies and all that jazz. The Geelong has made things easy for you this year—they've put together a list of gift ideas for all the special guys and gals in your life. Easy peasy.

Mad Hatters Christmas Party


Yep, it’s as crazy and unconventional as it sounds. The Alice in Wonderland themed party takes over Mornington Racecourse and transforms it into the Mad Hatter’s tea party, Christmas-style. You’ve got your usual suspects like market stalls, food and a beer garden, all with an Alice twist. Weird, but we like it.

Sister's Market 


Get ready, Brunswick. Sister's Market is back for another year. Think artisan designers, boutique jewellery and local labels like Titchy and Alisa Parveen. Come for the browse, stay for the post-market drinking sesh at The Penny Black.

Hills Art Market


A bit of a different one—the Hills Art Market is bang in the middle of the super tranquil Dandenong Ranges, it’s open-air and there’s a huge visual and musical feast for you. Right nearby is the Puffing Billy train, which turns this trip to the market into a full-blown tourist day out. Loving it.

This market is Boho Byron vibes cross exclusive-can't-get-it-anywhere-else deals. The Boho Luxe Market is letting you get your grubby little hands on all the newest Byron Bay collections. They also have an awesome selection of makers and designers that's sure to cover everyone on your Christmas list. Fitting with the Byron vibes, there’s a bunch of vegan food options too.

It’s an oldie but a goodie, if you haven’t been to the night market at QVM are you even a Melbournian? Brave the crowds and head down to experience some of the best culinary fusions the food scene has to offer. You’ve got concoctions like sushi doughnuts, halloumi chips, and Aussie bush tucker. Wash it all down with a cocktail, and pick up a handmade something something.

Dandenong Market


This market is bloody huge. With over 200 traders offering up stuff like fruit and veg, baked goods, seafood and meat, (and basically everything in between), you can guarantee that your pantry will never be fresher. The venders have been around a long time, so they know what they’re doing, and it brings together 150 different nationalities. Sounds like a recipe for a good time.

Arts Centre Saturday Christmas Market


One of Melbourne’s Sunday faves, the Art’s centre Market is doubling up days just in time for Christmas. Right across the bridge from Flinders Street Station, you’ll find handmade delights like fudge (yum), arts, crafts and everything else needed to mark you as the ultimate gift-giver this Christmas.
