Auckland’s Best Streetwear Shops

Auckland has a ton of great places with elite streetwear curations. So, we set out to track down the absolute best.

Whether you’re looking for the latest sneaker release, or just the best of the best to keep you looking fresh, here are Auckland’s best streetwear stores.

Hype DC

Auckland CBD

When it comes to getting the latest sneakers to add to your streetwear collection, Hype DC is where it’s at. Newly opened on Queen Street after earning the reputation for being one of the top streetwear stores in Australia, Hype DC quickly made their way to become one of the go-to shops for all the style savvy people of our city. They have you covered from the casual sneakers from the brands we all know and love such as Nike and adidas as well as other classic staples such as Dr. Martens Made in England.

Auckland CBD

They started off as just a small store on High Street and have now turned into one of the biggest streetwear stores in Auckland. Shoes are just a fraction of what Loaded have to offer. These guys are in fact, loaded with a series of different wardrobe pieces like tracksuits, t-shirts, caps and backpacks. They have all the essentials to transform your plain casual wardrobe to an effortlessly trendsetting closet. Leave it to one of the many friendly workers and they’ll hook you up with the latest and greatest.

Parlour Store

Auckland CBD

Tucked away on High Street is Parlour Store featuring some of the more lowkey and rare brands that only the true representatives of streetwear know of. From 40s & Shorties, Pleasures and Say Hello, Parlour Store tends to stock clothing that have a quirky vibrant colour scheme and unique print yet still remaining minimalistic and simple. All their clothes are loose fitting to make it appropriate for anyone and everyone so you’re bound to find something at Parlour Store.

Situated on trendy Ponsonby Road is this store with a big happy smiley face emoticon on their front window. From first glance, you wouldn’t guess that this store has some of the trendiest pieces in this city. Knowear stock all the renowned brands such as Reeboks, Asics and Nike but they’re most popular for having a wide selection of the L.A brand Chinatown Market. Knowear also have the most variety when it comes to their range of shades so be sure to hit them up if you’re in need for some accessories to spice up your outfit.

Auckland CBD

If you’re wanting style as well as luxury, Edit is the store you should be spending your time and money. The store is smaller with less workers allowing a more intimate experience so you get the best fit as possible. The workers at Edit make sure to pay attention to each and every detail so you look nothing lower than a 10/10. Yeezy, Raf Simons and Lardini are just a few of many brands that are found at Edit and if you’re someone who’s serious about fashion, Edit is well worth a visit.

Checks Downtown

Auckland CBD

Another High Street gem that specialises in casual streetwear is Checks Downtown. They’re a New Zealand clothing label and have a playful attitude where being taken too seriously is the last thing they want. Ethical production, environmental sustainability while looking steezy is all apart off their equation to streetwear and they like to collaborate with other Auckland businesses to create niche pieces. Their most recent collab was with Simon & Lee and together they released a T-shirt showcasing Korean and the multicultural society of modern Auckland.

Auckland CBD & Ponsonby

Breaking the bank doesn’t always need to be the result from achieving a killer wardrobe. Tatty’s in CBD and Ponsonby are always packed with top designer brands waiting for new owners to put their story on the items. Look inside and you’d be surprised at how much you can scope out after a few minutes of digging. As all the clothes are second-hand, they all have a certain worn-out, vintage and rugged look which adds to the casual element of street style.
