Finally, Auckland is getting a David Jones and it's opening this Thursday. The upscale department store is located in the new Westfield Newmarket which will house more than 200 new stores upon completion, giving us Aucklanders the world-class shopping experience we deserve. This will be the second David Jones to land in New Zealand (the first is in Wellington) and it will be the largest by a country mile. As well as access to the latest fashions, homeware and beauty across two floors, you'll also be able to get your beauty treatments ticked off the list here.
As if all that's not enough to give you palpitations, David Jones' hugely popular Personal Shopper service will be coming to Newmarket totally free of charge, giving us mere mortals the opportunity to live our most luxe lives.
What's more, David Jones is promising a whole heap of goodies for the early birds amongst us. The first 50 people to enter the store on Thursday 21 November will each receive a $50 David Jones gift card and if you spend over $100 in store you'll get a David Jones x NZ Designer Tote Bag designed by Karen Walker, Deadly Ponies or Kate Sylvester. There'll also be free coffee to keep you going from Thursday until Sunday when you buy something in store. If you're in need of something a little stronger—there'll be a pop up bar, canapes and a live DJ from 5pm-9pm on Thursday. There'll even be special 20% discounts off full priced women’s, men’s and kid’s fashion shoes and accessories. Phew.
David Jones Retail Director, Aaron Faraguna said: “The opening of David Jones in Westfield Newmarket marks the arrival of a world-class department store experience for our Auckland customers. The customer is at the heart of everything we do at David Jones. With the countdown underway, we are very excited to be bringing an outstanding store to life”.
So, get excited because the final stage of the, frankly impressive, Westfield Newmarket is about to be unveiled and we're here for it.
