Hey, Aucklanders. We’ve got a little secret to share with ya. Trust us, it’s a goodie. It’s bright, bold, beautiful and suuuuuper duper magical. Not to mention, it’s right in the middle of the city too! Get yourselves thoroughly excited for this one.
Gracing Auckland right now is a rainbow cycle-lane and walkway! That’s right, RAINBOW.
This is not a drill. Our city just got a whole lot more colourful, and we are beyond stoked. Featuring a lane painted in bright and bold stripes of hot pink, electric blue, fluoro yellow, feisty orange and ruby red, this addition is making the commute around our city prettier and easier than it has ever been before.
Right by Unitech, connecting Mt Albert to the rest of the West, cyclists will be able to take a majestic journey from central to west—then back again, while taking in all of the colours of the rainbow. It's basically how a unicorn would commute to its office job in data administration.
It's been a few good years when it comes to Auckland visual treats. We’ve had the pink walk-way add a pop of pink to the city, a recent light up extravaganza down at the Viaduct, and a light-up interactive art wall—so it’s no surprise that this rainbow addition is the perfect fit for our city’s collection of bootiful things to check out.
Get your bikes and helmets at the ready, cycling got a whole lot more fun.
