Auckland’s Most Beautiful Restaurants

Got a hot date coming up? Have a business client to impress? Or feelin’ just plain fancy? Look no further—Auckland has a plethora of stunning dining options all around the city for you to enjoy.

Lunch and dinner are their specialty (and some even breakfast!), and damn, do they do them in style! From olive groves, rustic charm to cool French and tropical sanctuaries, Auckland’s interior game’s got it goin’ on.

Mealtime is no longer just a treat for your stomach! Feast your eyes on our picks for some of Auckland’s most beautiful dining spots:

Set amongst the olive groves, this sprawling estate in Bombay is totally worth the trip. Escape the city bustle and into the stellar setting of Simunovich Olive Estate. Up the driveway you’ll see the rustic yet elegant exterior of Bracu that'll be enough to get the butterflies going. But inside is the real treat—there’s beautifully draped curtains, mighty pillars, and royally comfortable seats that’ll be yours for the night. From then, there’s the big choice between their stunning á la carte or set degustation menus. Either way you go, it’s a culinary journey you just have to experience.

Non Solo Pizza

You can see vines sprawl across the concrete walls of the delightful outdoor dining area as soon as you walk into Non Solo Pizza. Beautiful mosaic tiles line the counter, and when you delve further in you’ll even spot a chandelier made of Peroni bottles! A favorite for locals and tourists alike, four distinctive dining spaces are available for every mood and, no matter where you sit, their woodfired pizza is bound to go down a treat.

With more than seven different seating areas, Everybody’s really really is for everybody. Nestled in Fort Lane, it’s unassuming from the outside, but once inside it’s a massive, split-level oasis perfect for after-work drinks. Old-school exposed brick is contrasted with warm brown hues of slouch-worthy leather sofas and wooden stools. Get a spot for lunch, dinner or just for one of their phenomenal cocktails (vanilla espresso martini, anyone?), Everybody’s is a modern, easygoing beauty that you’ll want to visit everyday.

Three Lamps

This new kid on the block is right up there with the older Auckland institutions already, and for good reason. It's had its very own Cinderella moment, transforming from the old Ponsonby Post Office to French monochromatic charm. Food deliciousness (which there is an abundance of) aside, Augustus’ interior make us want to shout from rooftops—we just can't get enough of the old-school charisma met with modern cool. For the fancy nights, stay inside amongst the stylish marble and gold and, for the warm, lazy days, there’s a bountiful courtyard decked out with greenery.

The Sugar Club

Auckland CBD

Fine dining 328 metres high up in the Sky Tower—nothing can be more beautiful than that, right? It’s even better at The Sugar Club. The views? Amazing. The interior? Unreal. Step in, and see the fit-out inspired by the sensual Italian film ‘I Am Love’ and 1930’s Art Deco Italy—we’re talking brass fittings, stone tables and stellar tableware to top it all off. Funky flecks of yellow and blue bring warmth into the atmosphere, and the superb service bring Auckland’s landmark to life.

The Conservatory

Wynyard Quarter

Everyone loves Auckland’s ah-ma-zing waterfront views. What if we told you, you can admire it aaalll day long with an award-winning wine in hand? That’s where The Conservatory in Wynyard Quarter comes in. This wine bar, cocktail bar and restaurant has it all—from 18-inch pizzas (challenge accepted!), a free range AND organic menu, plus insanely pretty cocktails. Not only that, but there’s hanging chairs for your lounging delight which, coincidentally, makes for the perfect people-watching spot.

The Kimchi Project

Auckland CBD

There are courtyards… and then there are courtyards. The Kimchi Project is an inner-city haven and is the perfect lunchtime spot for all of the sunny days. Bamboo seating matched with big, leafy pot plants set the tone here, and it’s all for you to enjoy some of the best Asian fusion eats Auckland’s got to offer. Beautiful even down to their cups and plating, your lunch hour will never be the same again.

The Tasting Shed

This is rustic magic at its finest. Handmade tables and chairs (that used to be Indonesian fishing boats!), repurposed 60-year old apple and pear board boxes, and outdoor dining looking out onto The Tasting Shed’s own produce garden—you’re in for a real treat at this Kumeu gem. There are views out onto the rolling grass, and you can even take your wine out to The Cabana for a post-meal wind down. The menu is tastefully divided into sea, land and earth, and you’re sure to find a fave in no time at this cosy spot.

Sitting pretty in Parnell, this restaurant has become a bit of an institution in the City of Sails, and Beautiful is its middle name (if restaurants had them). You can’t miss the oh-so-Cibo hand mirrors hanging against the equally iconic pink blossom walls. Visited by celebrities like Mariah Carey, Mick Jagger, Tyra Banks and Elle MacPherson, you’ll basically be one of them amongst the delightful interiors with a vino in hand. On sunny days, their stellar courtyard is the perfect pozzy to bask in the rays and get amongst their extensive food and wine list—we can’t get past the free-range pork belly with pork doughnut!

Auckland CBD

As if this artisan bakery couldn’t get any better! Amano is the one friend that is oh-so trendy without even trying. Exposed brick, wooden pillars and thick marble communal dining all make for Hipgroup’s newest hot spot. Perch yourself up on the long bar or grab a booth, ‘cause everywhere you look she’s a stunner! Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, their menus also change daily—so no doubt you’ll be back daily, too.

The Grove

Auckland CBD

This is one Auckland restaurant you have to tick off your bucket list, stat! The Grove has been around for 13 years now and it still maintains its wonderfully intimate yet inviting air. Classic French vibes emanate from the black and white colour scheme and plush cushioned walls. Perfect for a first date or the 100th, The Grove’s degustation-only menu is something not to be missed.
