Orleans Has An Epic New Menu
Auckland’s inner-city hub of Southern American foods, Orleans, have done it again with their latest new menu. Having officially launched this past Monday, famous classics including the mac ’n’ cheese, cornbread loaf, and baby back ribs have made a comeback. New lighter options including the Maryland chicken, tuna salad and twice cooked pork belly all created with the health conscious in mind. Don’t forget to end things on a sweet note with the toffee beignet and new chocolate waffles.
Iconic Kiwi Lolly Returns
Jaffas have been a childhood treat for many Kiwis and after the disappointing news Cadbury will no longer make them, it’s time to take a collective sigh of relief. RJ’s, one of New Zealand’s largest confectionery companies, is stepping in. Thankfully, they look the same and taste the same. Available from supermarkets now.
ASB Classic Teams Up With Eat My Lunch
It’s one of the hottest events of the summer, and this year the ASB Classic has brought Eat My Lunch on board as their official community partner. Tennis fans will be able to participate in the ‘Buy one, give one’ model, giving a child in need a free lunch. The annual event will also help fund lunches, with every three balls bought providing a meal through the Eat My Lunch program. The ASB Classic kicks off on December 31 and runs through until January 12.
SOHO Wines Gives Back
SOHO Wines’ Pink Sheep Collection has officially hit shelves. Featuring bold and colourful labels, the range is designed to give back to the community, with 50 cents from every bottle sold donated to various charities. Proceeds from each bottle of the gold medal 2018 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc will support The Blind Foundation Guide Dogs, the 2018 Rosé Mike King’s KTL I AM HOPE trust, with the Pinot Noir supporting Variety. McDonalds Has A New McFlurry
McDonalds has collaborated with a local legend Cookie Time to bring us quite possibly the greatest McFlurry of all time. Just think classic Cookie Time Chocolate Chunk cookie crumbs and Maccas’ warm caramel sauce packed into a soft serve. Previously available exclusively on Uber Eats, the treat of the summer is now available in McDonalds nationwide for a limited time. Get in quick, you don’t want to miss this summer favourite.
Behemoth Brewery Finds A Permanent Home
Introducing the likes of the hoppy Happy Holidays IPA and award-winning Triple Chocolate Milk Stout, it’s no wonder they’re a favourite. After five years, they have settled into a new permanent home in a Dominion Road warehouse. With plans to become a full brewery, pub, butchery and restaurant in the new year Behemoth Brewery set to be a beer lover's dream. Hallertau Creates A Crunchy Nut Beer
Perhaps one of the weirdest yet wonderful pairings to hit the Auckland foodie scene, Hallertau and Kelloggs have teamed up to launch a limited-edition Crunchy Nut inspired beer. Proving that cereal really does transcend breakfast, it’s a global first for Kelloggs. Curious? Central Otago winery Akarua hashave just won big at the 2019 Sydney International Wine Competition. The 2017 RUA Pinot Noir took home the coveted trophy for best wine in the competition, as well as best Pinot Noir and best red table. Be the judge for yourself and get your hands on a bottle here.
