Foodies assemble, the culinary gods have heard our deprived lockdown cries because the most mouth-watering collab of the year is set to launch and we couldn’t be more hyped.
Kiwi culinary legends, BurgerFuel and Al Brown & Co. have teamed up to bring you a juicy, beefy, cheesy delight that is sure to make your taste buds tingle. Chef Al Brown is certainly an expert in all things delicious, with a slew of successful cookbooks to his name, plus the brains and palate behind Auckland’s beloved eateries: Depot Eatery, Federal Delicatessen and Best Ugly Bagels.
Brown is bringing some serious culinary chops to the table, so it’s no surprise that in collaboration with BurgerFuel they’ve whipped up a dish nothing short of sensational. Meet the Mustang Deli, an American-inspired burger taking influence from the classic Reuben sandwich.
Picture a decadent double serving of BurgerFuel’s 100 per cent pure grass-fed New Zealand beef patty stacked up high with a succulent slice of Al Brown & Co. corned beef. Then, this centrepiece is adorned with all the flavourful trimmings like tangy sandwich pickles, gooey melted cheddar cheese and a twist on the traditional with zingy kimchi.
But that’s not all—what really makes this baby stand out is the sauce. These delectable ingredients are slathered in Al Brown’s Old Yella Habanero Mustard, a punchy golden addition to the lip-smacking line-up, all sandwiched between a fluffy pretzel bun. Yes, you read that right, pretzel buns exist and we need to chow down on one, stat.
Are you breathing heavily in anticipation of your first bite? Same here. Get ready, the Mustang Deli will be hitting BurgerFuel stores nationwide from Tuesday, June 2—and don’t sit on it, this one is only around until Friday, August 3 or while stocks last.
