Calling all creatives, we have found your dream pop-up. If you’re into storytelling, art and fashion, then block out the calendar because Taste. Shop. Play is back.
For one weekend only across March 9 and 10, Westfield Albany, Westfield St Lukes, Westfield Manukau and Westfield Riccarton will transform into a creative wonderland packed with vibrant colours, drool-worthy tastes and artsy activities. We’re talking endless food tastings, visual showcases from emerging Kiwi artists and interactive exhibits.
Your dream weekend at Westfield Albany will include mixing your perfect paint colour, glitter face painting at the bespoke Glitter Bar, a selfie booth and calligraphy. Instagram illustrator Natasha Joseph will be live-sketching her whimsical fashion drawings, followed by award-winning cartoonist Ant Sang who will bring his graphic flair to the festivities. Enjoy the energy and wash it all down with a coffee tasting session with Nespresso or a round of putt-putt out in Civic Plaza.
Auckland-based artist and printmaker, Chris Hutcherson, also known as Chippy, will be bringing his doodles to life with an interactive mural at Westfield St Lukes. Embrace your inner artist with his colour-by-numbers installation, or simply sit back and enjoy the selfie booth, live music and free skin consultations from Clinique.
Meet the community behind Humans of South Auckland with an exclusive storytelling workshop at Westfield Manukau that will teach you the ins and outs of writing, inspired by the original Humans of New York. There will also be a Tasting Station dispensing snacks galore, and a selfie booth to capture all the memories. Creatives gather around as the main event will unveil a new mural and exhibition at the shopping centre.
If Riccarton is your local, you can also mix your own original paint colour here, or the more competitive can opt for a round of mini golf. Fashionistas will be treated to in-store styling sessions or personal pampering at the beauty booth. Once again there will be all the delicacies to snack on with food tastings on offer from local vendors.
