Imagine not loving Lady Gaga. The singer, songwriter, record producer and actress is an entertainment chameleon with plenty of awards and accolades under her heels, and now, The Star Is Born icon is ready to drop some more movie mayhem on your doorstep.
Set to hit in cinemas next year (pending old corona), the movie has been dubbed Gucci and will be directed by the ever-talented Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner). The film is based on actual real-life happenings where Patrizia Reggiani was convicted and sentenced to 29 years in prison, for arranging her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci’s murder. If you’re wondering what the big connection is—Maurizio was the grandson of Guccio Gucci, the Italian fashion mastermind. Patrizio was sentenced back in 1997 and was let out of prison in 2016.
And who better to play the outrageous Patrizio Reggiani than Lady Gaga? Exactly. To fill out the rest of the cast, Ridley Scott and his team have been in chats with Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Robert De Niro and Al Pacino (can someone say all-star cast?) but there’s been no confirmation yet as to what roles they might play in Gucci.
To say we’re excited is an understatement. We’ll keep you posted.
