Learn The Art Of Cooking With Auckland's Best Chefs

Wannabe a Master Chef? Or in need of some serious guidance in the kitchen? No matter what your cooking style, you’ll soon be transformed into a kitchen whizz with a series of events happening next weekend.

Called The Social Theatre, this is a pop-up series of cooking classes and culinary experiences bound to trigger your inner master chef. They include interactive demonstrations and complimentary food tasters, and is one of your few chances to see how the magic happens in some of Auckland’s most-loved eateries.

Held over three days, you’ll get the chance to fill up on fresh ideas, gain insider tips, and feast on some fantastic food samples. There’s a great mix of ticketed and free sessions—perfect for those on a budget. You can opt for gourmet food and wine pairings by Ostro, learn how sustainable plant-based food is the future from the beloved Unbakery, or attend a DIY dumpling demo by Lucky Lucky Dumplings. We’re in.

We’re also loving the sound of the Kyle Street Masterclass—he’s the chef behind Depot and Federal Delicatessen and will spilling his secrets and showcasing a sneak peek of his latest creations.

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, then learn about the art of ice cream making from the famous Giapo Grazioli, owner of Giapo gelato on Queen Street. Or, you can’t go wrong with a cake baking and decorating master class with The Caker, aka Jordan Rondel.

Whether you fancy the food, or are just wanting some food for thought, The Social Kitchen is the place to be this weekend!
