We’ve found a hidden new gem in the heart of Parnell. Asian Ruby Vietnamese Restaurant has arrived and is soon to be the talk of the town.
Tucked away off the main strip and down a stairway will see you transported to an oasis of Vietnamese-fusion cuisine. Brought to us by owner Nick Nguyen, it features a spacious fit-out decorated with nods to Ho Chi Minh city and Vietnamese culture. Outback you’ll find a gorgeous courtyard, that’s sure to be a summer hot-spot.
We can thank chef David Duc for the wondrous expansive menu. Featuring classic Vietnamese favourites adapted for a Western audience, from spring rolls and noodles, to sizzling plates and sweet eats, you’ll find yourself spoilt for choice.
Nick’s top pick is their signature dancing beef. Specially sourced stir-fried beef tenderloin atop watercress, leek, carrot, and onion, just a whiff of the dish is enough to have your mouth watering.
Another favourite you won’t want to miss is the duck leg orange. The succulent duck legs are slow-cooked in a ‘special’ sauce, served atop green beans with a generous drizzle of orange sauce. YUM!
If you’re dining for the 'gram (hey, we’ve all done it), you need to check out the boat fish. Tarakihi fish marinated with gatanga, chilli, and drill cooked in a hot wok, served alongside a basket of rice noodle salad and special sauce, it’s the masterpiece your feed will thank you for. Up your Insta-game a little bit more and pair with one of Asain Ruby’s epic cocktails.
Available from next week, Asian Ruby will be serving bespoke cocktails inspired by classic each with their own unique twist. Keep an eye out for the bloody nickky, a homemade tamarillo blend version of the bloody mary. Or opt for the VN espresso a wicked mix between the classic and a rum-based zombie cocktail.
With flavourful eats alongside cocktails with a kick, you won’t regret paying a visit to Asian Ruby Vietnamese Restaurant.
