Auckland has a wicked new cafe you need to know about. With a little slice of everything, Urban Verge is on the fast track to becoming a local legend.

Found a hop skip and a jump from the Cornwall Park entrance on Manukau Road, Urban Verge features a hip sleek fit out. Brought to us by owners Nigel and Debbie Tollemache, this new opening aims to please. From a fully stocked cabinet featuring house-made goodies to daily specials, Urban Verge is a functional, kick-back kind of space, great for mates dates and the like!

“We’re not fine dining or ostentatious,” says Nigel. “We’re just a nice tidy local community cafe.”

The menu features ‘classics with a unique twist’, with a little something for everyone. Nigel’s top pick is the ‘Fit Brunch’. A slight twist on your classic big breakfast, this combo features grain toast, poached free-range egg, tender greens, avocado (because it's not really brunching without, is it?), lemon garlic hummus and even fresh fruit. YUM.

For those, like us, who have a taste for sweet eats look no further than the French toast. Made with French bread, you can bet this bad boy is the real deal. Topped with grilled banana, crispy mouth-watering bacon with a spritz of lemon and drizzle of maple syrup, this one’s worth the cheat meal.

It’s never easy to break a habit, especially when it’s just sooo good. The big benedict is sure to leave you in the best food coma of your life—toasted New York bagel topped with two free-range eggs, smothered in holy hollandaise served with your choice of grilled bacon, smoked salmon or avo, it’s just what the doctor ordered after a big night out.

But that’s not even to mention their epic cajun chicken salad. We know, we know, some of you may be rolling your eyes at the thought of a salad, but this gem is a mountain of deliciousness that you need to try. Flavoursome cajun chicken, along with fresh greens, red grapes, orange, salad veggies, fresh mango and a sensational sweet-herb aioli, you’re sure to be the food envy of brunch.

Keeping things ‘as real as possible’, Urban Verge also has a stellar line up of fresh fruit smoothies and Soul Organic cold-pressed juices. For those needing an extra spring in their step, look no further to Urban Verges very own five blend coffee.

Putting their best foot forward, From gorgeous eats to treats with some of the best brews in town, Urban Verge is shaping up to be a staple on the foodie scene. Trust us when we say Epsom is one lucky ‘burb.
