Calling all pickle fanatics! International pickle day has returned bigger, better and picklier than ever before, with over 30 Kiwi eateries adding to the dill-icious line-up.
While the day of the pickle is usually celebrated on one day only—November 14 to be exact, New Zealand eateries and popular, US, family-owned pickle company, McClure’s Pickles have gone all out this year by spreading the festivities across a whole week—that’s right, an entire week from November 11-17 of indulging in the much-loved tangy snack.
Sink your teeth into pickled hot dogs, pizzas, burgers and even a selection of desserts. You name it they’ve got it. Whether it’s sweet, sour or fried you're guaranteed to be left satisfied with this pickle extravaganza.
Is there anything you can’t add pickle to? Duck Island Ice Cream have taken on the challenge by creating a limited edition McClure’s Pickle Ice Cream—we don’t know about you but we are a sucker for ice cream and pickle, so it’s a match made in heaven in our eyes.
Burger Burger have also jumped on the pickle bandwagon with their cool-as-a-cucumber dishes, including The Absolute Wurst made from McClure's Garlic and Dill Whole Pickle, Bratwurst Sausage, Mustard, Tomato Sauce and Fried Onion. Yum! They’ve even got a pickle shake to quench your thirst.
Other eateries embracing their tangy side are Best Ugly Bagel, Dr Rudi’s, Sweat Shop, Culprit and many more, so you are bound to find something that really tickles your pickle. Get involved and why not try them all—after all it would be rude not to.
