Lights Out, TEDX Is Bringing An Epic Dining In The Dark Speaker Event To Auckland

If you’re anything like us, then you’ve probably spent an afternoon or two trawling through YouTube watching one TEDx video after the next. While some might call it procrastinating, we much prefer calling it self-educating. Some of the greatest ideas in the world have been shared on that famous red and black stage, making us think, laugh, cry, and question the world around us.

Well, here’s your chance to experience a TEDx talk the first of its kind in the world, because TEDxAuckland is stepping it up a notch with their next event—plunging the entire audience, plus the speakers into complete darkness.  Come August 31, the lights will go off, the speakers will mic up, and audience members will experience a sensory treat like no other.

Hosted by Dans le Noir? in the Rydges Hotel, prepare to have your mind opened by two anonymous speakers and an accompanying three-course menu designed specifically with this event in mind. So, whether you’re a diehard TEDx fan or a foodie looking for the next new thing to try, this is gearing up to be an unforgettable experience like no other.

Keeping in traditional TEDx style, there’ll be an after party held at The Glass Goose for attendees, crew, and speakers – the perfect opportunity to mix and mingle with people from all over Auckland, and maybe even flex that knowledge you’ve been saving from watching all those YouTube videos.

While this might not be the best opportunity to catch a snap for your ‘gram, it is a chance to be part of something that’s never been done before, all while connecting with people you might otherwise never cross paths with and chowing down on some delicious food. Check out how to apply for a ticket here, dust up your small talking skills, and prepare for a night where anything could happen.
