Summer is around the corner and the City of Sails is where you want to be—in particular Silo Park.
Situated at the bottom of Wynyard Quarter, Silo Park catches all the golden rays and transforms into Auckand’s favourite whanau-friendly summer hub.
Start your weekends right by heading down there at 5pm where you’ll find food trucks galore. Soak in the scents and vibe while chowing down on some of Auckland’s best street food. When the sun goes down, Silo Cinema returns. Boasting a whopping collection of blockbusters projected onto the concrete silos, it’s the perfect way to spend a Friday night.
Kicking off on 20 December, the public can choose between A Wonderful Life, Gremlins, Home Alone or Love Actually.

Aladdin 2019 | 3 January
Catch the live action reboot of the Disney classic Aladdin with Will Smith taking up the reigns as the always-effervescent genie. It's a whole new world.

Damon Gameau, best known for That Sugar Film, the documentary that made us all say, “I’m sorry, what’s in my food?”, has returned to our screens with another life-changing epic. The documentary tackles the climate crisis from the refreshing view of what our world could look like if we took advantage of the clean, green technologies and techniques that already exist today.

An epic musical fantasy about the incredible human story of Elton John’s breakthrough years. The film follows the fantastical journey of transformation from shy piano prodigy Reginald Dwight into international superstar Elton John.
The Princess Bride | 14 February
Get lovey-dovey at Silo Cinema on Valentine’s Day while watching the classic romance, The Princess Bride. The fairy tale adventure is about two separated lovers who do everything in their power to be together again. Although it was released in the late 80s, The Princess Bride has earned a cult following as one of the best love stories of all time.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone | 28 February
Back to the where the story all started, with a wee Harry Potter shut up in the cupboard under the stairs by his horrible muggle relations being inducted into Hogwart's School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry. Despite being almost 20 years old, this film is still as stunning today as it was back in the day. A classic.
Lion King 2019 | 13 March
The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau helms this CG-animated re-imagining of the 1994 Walt Disney classic. Featuring Childish Gambino and Beyonce's considerable voice talents prepare to sing Hakuna Matata at the top of your lungs. And why not indeed.
