We all know everyone’s pretty much busier than they’ve ever been, and at least one spot in Auckland will help you with your life admin needs—Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen. This funky space serves up American fare, craft beer and you can visit the barber while you’re there. Say what? Yep. This establishment on Sale Street has teamed with Boar and Blade Traditional Barbershop to offer haircuts during lunchtimes and early evenings.
While we love the idea of food and haircuts, it’s not the only reason we love Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen. The venue is spacious and the décor is an eclectic mix of the interesting—even the lights had us peering upwards in curiosity. There’s a massive outdoor space for your long summer drinking sesh and it buzzes in the evenings.
This multi-faceted restaurant also has a brewery on site, and we can say with authority that it offers an easy-drinking, fresh taste that won’t disappoint.
Great venue, craft beer, barber on site—what more can this place offer? Food…glorious, American food. Whether you’re there for lunch, dinner or a late night feed, you’ll be one happy camper. The burgers are plus-sized and moreish, there are sandwiches that beg to be devoured, pizza to be munched on and, if you’ve got a sweet tooth, then wrap your mouth around their house-made doughnuts.
But then there’s the Smokehouse menu, which dishes up Southern USA style barbecue meats—think pulled pork shoulder or flat iron chimichurri steak. These are marinated in smoked salts and a top-secret dry spice rub before, and we quote, ‘being kissed by smoke and licked by flames’. Salivating yet? If not, you soon will be: along with your meat comes a hot pan of mac and cheese, coleslaw, Navajo flat breads, Boston beans and house made BBQ sauce. You need this. Now. We all do.
