There’s no need to stress about how you are going to get said great bod without the gym. Luckily for us, Aucland is offering up the goods with free exercise classes—yes, you heard that correctly. You can exercise for FREE in Auckland! It's true!
Here are six places to exercise for free in Auckland, get to it!
Cloud Runners Society
Get your sweat on with group training classes organised by the Cloud Runners Society—AKA the same time behind Nike Training Club. Every Monday at 6pm outside the Auckland Univeristy, a group of sportyspices meet for a killer workout. With HIIT training and running on offer, the team follow the motto "we run, we train, we drink coffee, we thrive on life!". So if running is your jam but you've got zero motivation to do it solo, you'll fit in perfectly.
Golden Yogi Community Yoga
If you’re yet to try some yoga, or you can’t afford to go on the reg, Golden Yogi in Takapuna has you covered. Every Sunday from 8.30am – 9.45am is a free community yoga class. The style of yoga varies as does the teacher, so it’s a great way to get an intro into yoga. Feeling generation, donate $5 after class to the Yoga Education in Prisons Trust. It may not be 'free-free' but it's a good cause.
Mind Over Matters
If you're looking for another way to exercise for free in Auckland, Mind Over Matters is getting people prepped for this years Auckland maration. It kicks off on Satrday mornings from 8 - 9am outside the Ponsonby Lululemon store. It is a six week runner's specific strenth workout for all your fitness gurus looking to challenge yourself. Taking place from 16 September - 21 October. Quick, get your run on!
Ultimate Surf Betty’s
If you consider yourself a bit of a surfer gal then be sure to join the Ultimate Surf Betty’s group on Facebook. The page is set up by the Ultimate Surf n Skate Shop to get a surfing community together. Organise your surf squad for a day trip to the waves. If we had to pick a favourite way to exercise, it'd be this, and it's free!
Adidas Run Club
If you’re less of a group fitness class person and more of a runner, the Adidas run club could be your go-to. Held every Tuesday at 6pm it meets outside the Platinum Sports Co store down in Vic Park. They even have a deal going for you to get in-store credits as you run. So that’s basically like being paid to workout right? We can feel the new sneakers already!
Yoga With Lululemon
Another great way to exercise for free in Auckland is to stretch it out on a Sunday morning at 8.30am with a complimentary yoga class at Lululemon’s Britomart, Takapuna and Ponsonby stores. It's the perfect start to a relaxing weekend followed by a little brunch and shopping. The teachers are from yoga studios around the Auckland community, and they change weekly.
