The weather might be having a little spack attack this weekend (stop taunting us, spring) but there’s plenty to see, do, eat and drink tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday in Perth. From beer festivals and comedy, to flowers and kittens, here’s 13 excellent things to do in Perth this weekend.

Friday 14 October

Spring Flowers | Fremantle

The Freo Markets have come alive with flowers this spring. Check out the hanging wildflower and everlasting displays while you peruse the weird and wonderful wares and stock up on fresh produce.

The Jungle Body Convention | Perth

Get that booty grooving at The Jungle Body Convention this weekend. There’ll be loads of sweat inducing masterclasses on offer (yes, that includes Konga, Tyga, Vypa and Jagua), DJs providing the beats, cocktail party fun times and inspirational speakers. Pick and choose between the events that suit you or opt for the three-day pass.

Perth Food & Wine Expo | Perth

What is a weekend without food and wine? Steer clear of the dodgy weather this weekend and head to the Perth Food & Wine Expo at the Convention Centre. There’s over 80 exhibitors and loads of free samples to be had (yes, wine samples too). Keep an eye out for your faves from Masterchef and My Kitchen Rules as they show you the ropes from the celebrity main stage.

Mega Market | Bentley

Got a whole bunch of cash burning a hole in your pocket? Well, get ready to spend up big because Mega Market is here. You’ll find loads of goodies on offer from homewares, candles and accessories to women’s and men’s clothing, arts and crafts, and everything is under $50. The event is free and there’ll also be a bunch of food vans on hand to keep your hunger at bay.

Hoptoberfest | Northbridge

Cheers to the Northbridge Brewing Company who are bringing Hoptoberfest to life this Saturday at their digs in good ol’ Northie. You can expect German food trucks, live art, music, tons of prizes and German beer of course. Prost!

Stand Up! For Comedy 2016 | Northbridge

Get ready for the belly aches, Stand Up! For Comedy is hitting the State Theatre Centre this weekend. Featuring comedians such as Ben Darsow, Sian Choyce, Hayden Stevens and Matt Dyktynski, the event marks the closure of Mental Health Week with all proceeds going to the Western Australian Association for Mental Health. Nice!

Rock Rattle & Roll Festival | Wanneroo

Don your best rockabilly attire and head north to the Rock Rattle & Roll Festival this Saturday. This Telethon event will feature an illustrated tattoo show, food trucks, live bands, live air brushing displays, a pin-up parade and loads of sweet cars 50s cars.

Boardwalk Beer Festival | Mindarie

A festival dedicated to craft beer? We’re there! Yes, it may be all the way in Mindarie, but this beer fest is not to be missed. After tasting all of the beer and cider samples, head to the man cave themed markets or have a go on the bucking beer bottle. There’ll also be a DJ and street food stalls for all to enjoy.

The Fremantle Folk Festival | Fremantle

Chill out to the sweet sounds of folk music this weekend at The Fremantle Folk Festival. Held at Princess May Park, you’ll get to hear from the likes of Abbe May’s Gospel Choir, Donna Simpson (The Waifs), Jordie James (San Cisco) and Carus Thompson. There’ll be loads of wine and cider to be drunk, food stalls, roaming acts and fun for the kiddies.

TEDxPerth | Perth

If you’re up for some intellectual action this weekend look no further than TEDxPerth. Electric Vines | Swan Valley

Electric Vines is back and better than ever this year with a whole lot of food, bevvies, music and good times to be had. Wet Nose Day | Shenton Park

Cat ladies and gents, get ready to squeal at all of the kittens and cats, Wet Nose Day is here again! This great event, which raises money for homeless felines in Perth, features fun for the whole family. There’s loads of market stalls, food, coffee, live and silent auctions, raffles and even cute cat merch up for grabs.
