From refined casual dining spots that face the colourful street to the cheap and cheerful eateries that fill the area’s various lanes and arcades, the top-notch eats are plentiful in this neck of the woods.
The strip has seen some changes over the last few years, so to help you plan your next night out, we've lined up the best bars and restaurants in Mount Lawley.
Le Rebelle
676 Beaufort St, Mount Lawley WA 6050
Image credit: Le Rebelle | Instagram
Le Rebelle is an intimate bistro and wine bar inspired by the old ‘romantica’ of classic Parisian and New York bistros. With cosy interiors, atmospheric lighting and ace staff to guide you through your night, Le Rebelle remains one of Perth's top bucket list dining experiences. We say, lean in on the Parisienne experience with duck frites and snails.
El Publico
511 Beaufort St, Highgate WA 6003
El Publico is a fun and energetic spot to start a night out on Beaufort St, preferably with a classic Tommy’s Margarita in hand. Choose from the a la carte menu (the fish tacos are non-negotiable) or go for the ‘feed me’ menu which will see you and nine mates buried in chicharron, street corn and tacos for just $65.
Bar Rogue
2/515 Beaufort St, Highgate WA 6003

If Le Rebelle ticked your boxes, you'll wanna check out Bar Rogue—the second venue from the talented husband and wife team. This moody little split level spot is definitely more bar than restaurant, but it's got enough gourmet snacks to keep everyone well fed. Whatever you do, don't leave without trying one of the chicken skin sarnies.
Bar Vino
181 Central Ave, Mount Lawley WA 6050
Serving up over 100 wines by the glass, Bar Vino—the new 'by night' spot inside Willing Coffee—is undoubtedly a great spot for a drink, but the Italian-leaning eats won't disappoint either. Think: antipasti, quality pasta and a scoop of tiramisu to send you on your way.
The Beaufort
521-525 Beaufort St, Highgate WA 6003

The Beaufort is Mount Lawley's massive multi-venue precinct from the same guys behind the Old Synagogue in Fremantle. Make your way through the terracotta-hued facade and you'll find layers of lush terraces to drink in with stairs that wind through the venue, taking you to all the different bars and eateries tucked within the complex.
The standout here has to be Lotus, the delectable South East Asian restaurant headed up by Head Chef Sundoo Kim (whose extensive resume includes the likes of Chin Chin in Melbourne). Our tip: just go the 'feed me' menu and let the kitchen make the decisions because it's all far too good to pick between... although if you do throw in one extra dish, let it be the flakey butter chicken puffs.
From there you can nip upstairs to try snag a seat on one of the rooftop terraces for a sundowner cocktail or two before hunting down the hidden speakeasy, Cypher, for some more late-night tipples.

Ischia
500 Beaufort St, Highgate WA 6003
Ischia is repping a menu full of absolute Italian classics like spaghetti marinara, napoletana gnocchi and chicken parmigiana, plus a pizza list that can be ordered by the metre. Combine a selection of their pizza toppings onto a maximum of 180cm of house-made base—it's perfect for keeping the whole gang happy.
Hanami
685C Beaufort St, Mount Lawley WA 6050

The slightly dated exterior of this long-time resident of the Beaufort strip should be seen less as off-putting, and more as a reason to enter. It's a sign of just how long Hanami has been smashing out authentic Japanese here. For the full experience, ask to get seated zashiki style (on the floor).
Goreng Goreng
75 Walcott St, Mount Lawley WA 6050
The ultimate cheap and healthy noodle fix can be found at Goreng Goreng, which has been a Mount Lawley staple since opening in 2005. Mix and match your meat, veg and sauce to noodles or rice, or order from their unfussy list of specialties.
Ribs Lane
644 Beaufort St, Mount Lawley WA 6050
Image credit: Ribs Lane | Instagram
An American-style diner has landed in Mount Lawley and it's here to save you from all your late night Uber Eats-ing. The 60-seat retro BBQ joint is slinging sticky fall-off-the-bone ribs and juicy wings, beastly burgs, smoked meats and seafood bowls until 4am every Friday and Saturday (and until 10pm every other night of the week). Love a late night dessert date? You'll also find sweet things like French crepes, waffles and thick shakes stacked high with toppings like Lotus Biscoff and Oreos here too.
Tommasinos
Beaux Lane, 609 Beaufort St, Mount Lawley WA 6050
This popular laneway joint is dishing up a little slice of Rome, right here in Perth. And when in Rome, make like the Romans…which in this case means it’s all about pinsa, not pizza. Pinsa dough is made a little differently and is way more digestible and has less carbs and fats than other pizza doughs you’ll find around town, so feel free to ditch any guilt. But aside from that, it’s just really freaking delicious, especially the Tartufata, so do yourself a favour.
The Elford
639 Beaufort St, Mount Lawley WA 6050
Image credit: The Elford | Instagram
While we do dearly miss the old-school character of The Flying Scotsman, you can't argue with the light and bright fitout and crowd-pleasing eats at The Elford. The gastro pub has a great streetside deck that's ideal for a few casual drinks and a pizza (which are only $18 on a Monday) with your mates. Plus, the bottomless drag lunches here are a whole thing, so keep an eye out for those.
Longlae Thai Cuisine
104 Grosvenor Rd, Mount Lawley WA 6050
Using handpicked ingredients and ancient techniques and recipes, Longlae is dishing out seriously fresh Thai food brimming with freshness and spice. The larb and papaya salad are must-orders, along with the ‘prawn in the blanket’ for starters. Then, go for some curry or a whole fish, which you can get soaked in tamarind, ginger, sweet and sour or pepper and garlic sauce. They also have a great little list of desserts and they're BYO.
Mack Daddy’s New York Slice
560 Beaufort St, Mount Lawley WA 6050
Image credit: Mack Daddy's | Instagram
There’s a lot of good pizza to be enjoyed in Perth, but few that really layer on the cheese and turn up the grease factor in true New York style. Mack Daddy’s is holding it down at the southern end of Beaufort Street, and they're also one of the few places you can get a good by-the-slice pizza, and for only $8 a pop no less.
Miss Potz
3/609 Beaufort St, Mount Lawley WA 6050
From the living legends who brought us Mr Munchies comes Miss Potz, a BYO restaurant that combines Asian fusion delights with tapas style eating. Tucked down Beaux Lane, Miss Potz is packing some serious flavours into an affordable menu, featuring winners like rendang sliders, soft shell crab papaya salad and deep fried banana fritters for dessert.
Si Paradiso
1/446 Beaufort St, Highgate WA 6003
Image credit; Si Paradiso | Instagram
Si Paradiso is technically in Highgate, but given it's only a short stroll down Beaufort St, we reckon it's worth noting down for your next Mount Lawley food adventure. The Italian eats are just as good as the Italio-disco vibes, whether you're smashing burrata topped woodfired pizza and margaritas out in the amphitheatre or devouring sexy shares and delectable vino in the main dining hall.
