With this in mind, we’ve curated a list of Auckland’s best places for a business lunch. They’re stylish, delicious and sure to impress.

Pilkingtons is an award-winning space is an oasis in the heart of Auckland City. This light and airy establishment is adorned with floral patterns, draped in greenery and offers a stunning courtyard area to dine in the sun. Their delectable menu, thanks to Des Harris, offers up options like oysters, ham croquettes, Merino lamb, grass-fed eye fillet and beef carpaccio. Pilkingtons has a wine list that is second to none and, don’t forget about the cocktails! Opt for the Bloody Good Mary with 42 Below vodka, Antica formula, tomato juice, Worcestershire, tobacco and salt and pepper or, try the Call of the Wild with 42 Below feijoa vodka, poppy seed syrup, pear soda, lime and kaffir lime leaves. If you’re wanting to impress the socks off a work client, then take them to Pilkingtons to seal the deal.

The Glass Goose

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, The Glass Goose a wonderful spot to host your business meeting in style. Its glasshouse-themed space even provides you a picture perfect view of the Sky Tower. The Glass Goose offers up a delectable menu made for sharing, featuring options like the crumbed pork belly with mulled wine glaze, wagyu beef lettuce cup, eggplant chips with pistachio dip and duck fat potato skins. They’ve also got cheese and meat boards, perfect for catering your work event. They also offer free WIFI. Bonus!

Spectacular ocean views and a mouth-watering menu is what you’ll find at Ostro. Located in the swanky Seafarers building, this is another go-to spot for a business lunch in Auckland. Their express lunch menu is perfect for a quick meeting on the go, taking the hard yards out of ordering. You’ll find a short and sweet menu featuring three options for a starter and a main, including dishes like, pan roasted snapper and watermelon and tomato salad. So for amazing food and amazing views, Ostro will not disappoint.

Nestled in the heart of Imperial Lane, Everybody’s is another top pick of ours for Auckland’s best business lunches. This split-level establishment is elegant and decadent, covered in white-washed furnishings and exposed brick walls, with plush booths and secret spots to sink away in to. The Mezzanine offers up its own private bar, while the upper booths can sit 8 people comfortably, for those more intimate meetings. With each venue comes a delightful food and beverage menu, including options like meat and cheese boards and small plates for sharing and with an equally delightful beverage list to suit every taste bud. Everybody’s really is for everybody.

Cibo is all about the luxurious and is another fabulous place to have a business lunch. Opt for their express menu, which is served within 45 minutes, with options of two or three courses. Choose an item from their entrée (we recommend the whitebait omelette!), a main and a delicious dessert. Their wine list is also fabulous to wash down the eats. We recommend booking as Cibo is hot!

Ortolana, meaning ‘market gardener’ in Italian, pays homage to their use of seasonal and locally grown produce. This European-inspired menu is something to get excited about, with dishes like crayfish ravioli, organic chicken cotoletta with tomato salsa and ricotta-filled courgette flowers. Ortolana offers up an urban-meets-country vibe, with exposed brick, long wooden tables and stunning pendant lights or dine in the afternoon sun in the outdoor courtyard area. Either way, you can be sure your business lunch will go down a treat at this little downtown gem.

The Grove

This stunning eatery is another top pick for Auckland’s best business lunches. The Kiwi-meets-French seasonally changing, degustation menu is something to truly get excited about. You can choose from a four to seven-course degustation or a three-course a la carte menu for groups of more than eight. Matching wine to your degustation is another specialty of The Grove’s and everything will be enjoyed so much more if you’re seated in the stunning outdoor seating area in St Patricks Square.

St Marys Bay

Sister of the ever-popular SPQR in Ponsonby, Augustus is another top contender. There are a lot of things that make Augustus a fantastic spot, not least of which is the venue itself. The stunning historic building is more than 100-years old  and its monochrome furnishings make it an über cool option for entertaining your work guests. Augustus also has an outdoor area, perfect for enjoying lunch and a few bevvies in the afternoon sun and their French-inspired menu is to die for, featuring options like oysters, prawns, crayfish, French onion soup, smoked duck breast, free range pork belly and lamb rack. Wash your lunch down with a bottle (or two) of French Champagne and your work lunch will be an all-round success.

Soul Bar

Last but not least, one of Auckland’s best business lunch venues is Soul Bar, located on Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour. Not only does it have stunning views of the Waitemata Harbour, their menu is pretty spectacular itself. With fresh seafood on offer, as well as pork belly, lamb rack and pasta, there’s something for everyone. And, you can’t go past their epic cocktail list. We recommend the Jude’s Law with activated charcoal-infused gin, raspberry gomme, mint and lime or the Royal Garden, with rosemary infused vodka, strawberry puree, lemon, vanilla syrup and prosecco. This establishment is perfect for a work function with private dining rooms offering set menus and a relaxed vibe, perfect for entertaining (and impressing.)
