And just like that the first half of the year is gone! So now that July is here it’s time to get serious about winter. How are we going to do that, you ask? With hot cheese, spiced gin, movies about Antarctica and a whole lot of food and wine.
Here are 5 awesome things to do in Perth this week.
Wednesday 6 July
Hot Cheese And Spiced Gin At Frisk
Wednesday marks the start of our fave winter tradition at Frisk. A whole wheel of baked camembert stuffed with rosemary and garlic! Pair it with some spiced gin for only 20 bucks and call it a night. Find out all the deets here.
Thursday 7 July
47 Below At The State Theatre Centre Of WA
Inspired by a friend’s fight with breast cancer, Geoff Wilson set out on a solo mission to cover 3,400 kms on his ‘boobsled’ across Antarctica in world record speed, and he filmed it so you could see. 47 Below premiers on Thursday night with a talk from Geoff Wilson himself. Already raising $240,000 for the McGrath Foundation, all proceeds from ticket sales will also be going to the McGrath Foundation. Get tickets here.
Fraser Gallop Dinner With Paul McArdle At Post
If you know good wine then you’ll already be familiar with Fraser Gallop wines. The five red star James Halliday winery will be showcasing seven of their wines—including the 97 point rated 2011 Parterre Chardonnay and the nine time gold medal winning Cab Sav— alongside a three course menu designed by Post’s head chef, Kim Brennan. Get tickets here.
LIGHTHOUSE 2016 At Council House
Once you’re done with dinner at Post, why not go and have a gander at Council House and the new LIGHTHOUSE project. As of Thursday this week there will be two works of art from local artists using the existing lighting infrastructure. The two works will alternate every 15 minutes from 6pm each night so make sure you check it out when next time you’re in the city!
The Good Food & Wine Show Launch At Lakeside Joondalup Shopping City
North siders get excited. This Thursday all of our fave Australian celebrity chefs are gathering for the launch of the Good Food & Wine show. Think Anna Gare, Gary Mehigan and there’s even a dessert demonstration from the Macaron master himself, Adriano Zumbo! Get all the info here.
