Get peddlin’ with the launch of the annual Sydney Rides Festival this weekend, and unwind the exotic way on Geisha Burlesque night at Geisha Haus. FIESTA Latin Festival will put some pep in your samba step and Brazilian barbecqe in your belly, and be sure to catch the best and brightest of Newtown Locals like Black Star Pastry and Young Henrys dishing up some insane collabs to help out the homeless.
With summer just around the corner, we’re brimming with things to do in Sydney. Let’s go!
Gorgeous Geisha Burlesque Night
Tonight, Geisha Haus has got you covered for drinks, bites, AND entertainment in their first Gorgeous Geisha Burlesque night. A night where socks and thongs may be the geisha dress code (we cannot confirm this), the night will include a performance from burlesque queen Miss Bellissima (BYO feathers and dancing shoes to join in the feather dance). A throw back to Potts Point bohemia, the celebration of geisha extends to their drinks menu where they’ll be mixing up their legendary Gorgeous Geisha cocktails for $12 a pop. Made with Larios 12 Gin, Cointreau, T2 Gorgeous Geisha Tea (green tea with a hint of strawberries and cream—our fave), mixed berry syrup and a dash of rhubarb bitters served in a brandy balloon with edible wildflowers frozen in an ice sphere, we will see you there (trying to eat the frozen wildflowers).
Thinkers & Drinkers Wine Festival
Get your palate ready and refined for a lush day of wine tasting at the Thinkers & Drinkers Wine Festival. 600 wines from faraway lands like Argentina, Chile, South Africa, North America, New Zealand, and not-so-far-away Australia will be ready and waiting for your appraisal. Because the best wines go well with the best eats, there will also be a massive range of international feeds like empanadas, BBQs on the deck, US Bagels, dulce de leche alfajores, and artisan cheeses. Marathons are not just for running, ja feel?
