Share A Swanky High Tea

Put on your Sunday best for the classiest high tea in the city. We’re talking ribbon sandwiches, fresh, fluffy scones and plenty of pinky-raising. Whether she’s into delicate desserts, dainty sandwiches, chocolate or champagne, Mum’s sure to love the spread at the city’s most sophisticated high tea establishments, which you can browse right here.

A few other venues are putting on exclusive high teas just for the occasion, including Iris Rooftop, who are pairing high tea with two hours of mimosas for $80pp, Brisbane Marriott, who've gone and given their high tea a rosé makeover for $145pp (which includes three hours of bubbles and cocktails, HELLO), and Goldfinch, who are putting on a luxurious high tea for $65pp.

Hibiscus Room are saying cheers to mum poolside with a glass of rosé and a delightfully classic high tea spread, and Emporium Hotel are giving you the option to have their exquisite high tea in more of their dining venues, with Signature and Piano Bar both offering up a unique take on the Belle Epoque signature. You'll also find high tea events at Regatta Hotel, and The Wickham.

Raise Your Glass at A Boozy Brunch

It's an unofficial rule that on Mother’s Day, there’s no need to wait until after 5pm to bust open the booze, so get Mum day-drunk at one of Brisbane's best bottomless brunches. Whether she's a fan of a classic eggs benny and a few mimosas or could happily get messy downing endless tacos and margs, there's an option for her on our list right here

If you need some more options, The Boundary in West End is throwing a brunch with two hours of spritzes involved for $75 just for the occasion, while Ovello is hosting an Italian bottomless brunch filled with gnocchi, burrata and of course, plenty of spritzes for $89pp. Yes please.

For The Creative Mum

Take Her To Learn A New Skill

If Mum loves to get hands-on, take her to a session at one of Brisbane's best creative workshops, with everything from calligraphy to gift-wrapping and loom weaving on offer. You could also get her hands dirty at a pottery class—who knows, she might discover a hidden talent.

Spend Time Together At A Paint And Sip

If your mum is most creative with a paintbrush in one hand and a glass of wine in the other, then a paint and sip class is absolutely worth booking. Some of these paint and sip studios will even let you BYO cheese board—how's that for a day out? Plus mum gets to take home the ultimate mum-sterpiece, and probably your painting as well, just like when you where in preschool.

For The Outdoorsy Mum

Take In Some Fresh Air On A Hike

If Mum's idea of a perfect Sunday is pulling on the boots and hitting the trail, take your pick from our best spots to take a hike in and around Brisbane. From leisurely walks the whole fam will enjoy (maybe even Grandma?) to more intense paths that will have her (and you) huffing and puffing, it's hard to think of a more wholesome way to spend a Sunday together.

Set Sail With The Whole Family

GoBoat Brisbane River

For a memorable Mother's Day experience, book an electric picnic boat from GoBoat and spoil Mum to a picnic while cruising on the river. You can BYO all of Mum's favourite snacks, or opt to order food and drinks from MICA in the Breakfast Creek Lifestyle Precinct, which is where you depart from. You can learn more about the boats (which are dog-friendly, too!) here.

For The Mum Who Needs To Chill

Send Her Off To A Spa Day

For mums feeling a little stressed (let's be real, most of them are thanks to our questionable life choices), a spa day is just what the doctor ordered. Whether she’s a fan of Japanese-style ganbanyoku, or more of a mani-pedi kind of gal, the city is packed with plenty of luxe day spas guaranteed to melt Mum’s worries away. Check out our list of Brisbane’s best day spas for our top picks on the best facials, plunge pools and steam rooms in town.

Spoil Her With a Stunning Bouquet

Treat your mum to a fragrant, floral surprise this Mother’s Day with a beautiful bouquet delivered from a local Brisbane florist. Offering everything from Australian natives to potted plants, the city’s flower artists are guaranteed to give Mum something worthy of her special day. With delivery options starting at just $30, prepare to score some opulent stalks and stems that put traditional pink roses to shame.
