Mopho Canteen is a welcome addition to the bustling Carlisle Street food scene – ex Mr Wolf and Melbourne Wine Room chef, Adam Davis, setting up shop with a Vietnamese hawker style canteen, serving up some of Melbourne’s best pho and authentic street-food bites. The décor is casual, yet funky, and is perfect for almost any occasion – with communal stool-lined tables and an open kitchen. Adam has curated a unique and exceptional menu, with sharing dishes such as DYI pork spring rolls, soft shell crab, glazed chargrilled chicken hearts and seared tuna with green papaya and herbs. But the stand out dish is of course, the pho! Coming in three varieties – beef, chicken, or veg, mushroom and tofu – this is truly a topnotch dish that rivals any of Melbourne’s best pho.

A cute cafe by day and a killer bar by night, the Glass Merchants is an awesome venue, whether you're looking for a light bite to ease you into the day, or some hard drinks to see out the night. The cafe and bar in Balaclava is our pick of the area for a low-key vibe and a friendly crowd. As for the food? The no-frills menu is packed full of delicious classics. Nom.

29th Apartment
Filled with eccentricities and oil paintings, 29th Apartment is a recreation of the apartment of St Kilda artist and prostitute Kitashe, who was fascinated by New York City and mysteriously went missing in the 1980s. Tuck into Chris Rock Chilli Cheese Fries or try the Central Park Tea Party cocktail with Old Tom Gin, elderflower liqueur, black tea, lemon and honey. Take a trip to Manhattan without ever leaving Melbourne!

Lightly is a homewares store situated in Collingwood. Selling hand made wares, made in Melbourne from mostly natural materials, Lightly's range is perfect for the modern Australian home. Owner / designer Cindy-Lee Davies has grown Lightly to be one of Melbourne's favourite homewares stores.
Allgood Coffee
There's a new kid on the block in Melbourne's coffee loving CBD, courtesy of Greg Brassil, previously of Addict. His latest project, Allgood Coffee on Little Collins Street serves up a smorgasbord of tasty bagels, doughnuts (courtesy of Shortstop), pastries by Noisette and Market Lane Coffee in charge of the caffeine fixes, the petite space takes a no-frills approach to refuelling. The perfect solution to those early morning or lunchtime hunger pangs.

Saint.Urban is a beautifully designed bar-restaurant situated on Richmond's iconic Swan Street. Predominantly a wine bar, the venue serves mouth-watering food including wagyu carpaccio, cuttlefish, confit duck and a host of other delights. To match, the European and Australian wine list brings together the tastiest flavours from around the world, meaning there will always be a good drop in your glass. A great spot for the full three courses with friends.

Dex2rose gelateria in Melbourne CBD serves up some of the craziest ice cream concoctions we've laid eyes on! Specialising in 'nitrogelato' (that's nitrogen-frozen gelato creations), the dessert bar serves some other incredible sweet treats, including a great hot chocolate. Perry's new Melbourne restaurant is situated in St Collins Lane, the stunning fashion precinct that's also home to a bevvy of eateries too. Because shopping makes us hungry, duh.
Toko
With outposts in Dubai and Sydney, including the incredible Tokonoma bar, Japanese restaurant Toko has opened a new Melbourne restaurant. Situated in Prahran, on the suburb's buzzing Greville Street, the new Japanese eatery serves up some of the best food in town thanks to its expertly trained chefs. A must for Japanophiles and sushi fans.
Gene & Peta
The fact that Gene & Peta exists speaks volumes about Melbourne's love for creativity! The warehouse-cum-shop space brings together a yoga studio, a boutique and a craft space, all under one roof. Drawing inspiration from Moroccan vestibules, where tradespeople would sell their wares, you'll find three yoga classes per week, networking events for local creatives, and advice from the team behind the space. A hidden gem you'll be glad to have found.

Smalls is the little wine bar that could. Tucked down South Melbourne laneway, Yarra Place, you'll find Smalls next to cafe favourite St Ali. Smalls is small by name, small by nature (the venue only seats a few dozen lucky diners) but is big on personality. The fit out is stunning - lots of rich woods and stark white painted brick. The wine list is impressive and the list of bar snacks is exactly what you'll feel like.

The Cremorne barbers is one of Melbourne's best salons for men, largely due to Mason's high attention to detail and bespoke service that begins with looking at each customer's bone structure. As well as getting a fresh new cut, Morris Motley is also a superb place to pick up barely-there men's hair products. The perfect spot for a grooming sesh.

The combination works perfectly and creates a unique and comfortable atmosphere. The furniture that patrons sit on is all for sale and is marked as such! The menu is a tightly curated offering of authentic Chinese dishes which regulars return time and time again to enjoy.
Tom Phat
Tom Phat is a cosy restaurant/cafe situated on Sydney Road, Brunswick. With an interesting aesthetic, the atmosphere is ideal for a weekend breakfast, a quick drink or a date night dinner. The Daily Food Co. truck, nicknamed Lola, serves up delicious American-style fare from its retro-style horse float. With a menu that includes popcorn chicken, tacos, and one of the most drool-worthy pork sliders we've encountered in a looooong time, this Melbourne food truck isn't for the faint-hearted. We've heard that they also team up with BBQ legends The Gem for delicious meaty specials—check the Daily Food Co.'s Facebook page for details and expect lip-smacking food that beats most trucks around.
