For an epic food challenge which rivals what you’ve seen on Man v. Food head to Perth burger joint, Novembars Cafe in Dianella. Serving up Perth’s hottest and biggest burgers, Novembars Cafe have two burger eating challenges, the chilli-hot Red Face Runny Nose (which has reportedly hospitalised two diners) and the Fat Boy Burger (which goes up in price the longer you take to eat it). There’s also a $1000 burger on the menu which features a whopping 101 beef patties, 100 slices of bacon and two T-bone steaks.

Deen Street BBQ in Northbridge serve some of the biggest, baddest, juiciest and most delicious ribs and meaty goodness in Perth. Soda Cafe got a facelift and is now looking better than ever as North Beach Deli! The winning breakfasts, lunches and dinners (as well as the stunning views) are still going strong, but they’ve also expanded into a deli with take-home charcuterie, cheese, house-baked bread, salads and ready-to-go meals. Rodney’s Bait n Tackle

Ahoy ahoy, all aboard Rodney’s Bait and Tackle. This ship is sailing in Mosman Park and buoy oh buoy it’s a ripper. Everything from the tables and chairs, the fixtures on the ceiling and the enormous boat that is in the middle of the bar is on point. The bar menu isn’t the biggest boat in the harbour, but they've got the basics—pies, chips, bar snacks and $2 slices of pizza. The long list of wines, beers and small array of cocktails is just enough for everyone to enjoy while listening to the live bands on board. Hands down, one of the best bars in Perth.

Magna Pizza

One of three eateries sharing the historic warehouse feel of The Mantle, this Freo fave dishes out delicious (and seriously good value) pizza using natural traditional ingredients. Letting the dough rise for at least 36 hours, the pizza is sublime and extremely digestible (always a plus!). Our top picks include the Poppea (4 cheeses, sage and walnuts) and the Cicerone (Bolognese sauce, mozzarella, sausages, hot salami and capsicum).

Chalky’s Espresso Bar

One of our fave Freo cafes, Chalky’s Espresso Bar in Fremantle’s West End sums up what makes our port city so special - heritage buildings, great coffee and some killer people watching. Located within the gorgeous Fremantle Municipal Tramways Building, pop in for a coffee (they're brewing Dukes here) or stay for the epic all-day brunch and free Wi-fi. The Hock - a delicious mess of poached eggs, master stock braised pork hock, potato and artichoke gratin with housemade hollaindaise - is spectacular.

With plenty of old faves (we really struggle to go past the chicken tikka masala!), those who visit on a Friday or Saturday night can get their fill from the buffet for $35. Bargain!

You’d be hard pressed to find a view better than that from Matilda Bay Restaurant on the banks of the Swan River in Crawley. Mod-Asian restaurant Fuyu has opened its doors in Nedlands and with David Coomer at its head we have reason to be excited. The genius behind Star Anise and Pata Negra, you can expect top quality food but the vibe is a little more relaxed. Think dumplings and drinks at the bar and you’re on the right track.

It's rare to find a Perth cafe open after 4pm and for that alone, we are fans of C15 Espresso. What sweetens the deal is one of the best (and most unique looking!) apple tarts we have ever tasted.
