Yes, that’s right, a list of Brisbane’s best gluten-free pizzas. Bet all you sceptics out there never thought you’d see the day we’d be happily enjoying and recommending good GF pizzas, did you?

We aren’t going to pretend it hasn’t been a struggle to get to this point; we’ve all had to eat our way through our fair share of bad bases, right? But these restaurants have absolutely nailed it and given GF’ers a slice of pizza that softens the blow of missing out on the real deal.

Pizzeria Violetta

Various locations

Pizzeria Violetta make all of their pizza’s 98% gluten-free, which means you don’t feel like big old nuisance having to request a gluten free option, which we love. You can’t go past the classically delicious Diavola (tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil, and inferno salami), or the Boscaiola (mozzarella, pork and fennel sausage, friariellie, and provola). Yum!

Corbett & Claude

Various locations

At Corbett & Claude you’ll find each and every pizza is able to made on a gluten free base, which is kind of a big deal! Try ‘The Consultant’—it comes loaded with thinly sliced potato, crispy prosciutto and rosemary. ‘The Cigar’ is also epic: a rolled pizza loaded with ham, mushroom, caramelised onion, chicken bites, and chipotle.

Sol Natural Foods

Fortitude Valley

Sol Natural Foods do pizza differently, and of course, totally gluten free. The raw pizza with zucchini ribbons, sun-dried tomatoes, Kalamata olives, nut cheese, sprouts, and spinach come served on an organic tomato base. Don’t mind if we do…

The Burrow

West End

The Burrow has the option to make almost every menu item gluten free, which we love. But, it’s their pizzas that really blow our minds. The ‘Bad Motherfungi’ is a) pun-derfully named, and b) seriously delicious. It comes loaded with mushrooms, crispy pancetta, gorgonzola, mozzarella, rocket, and parmesan. Excuse us while we drool.

Colle Rosso

Red Hill

Colle Rosso know their way around a pizza or two—gluten free bases included. The selection here is divine, and will make you feel like they were designed with the GF base in mind. There are so many options to choose from flavor wise: Alla Zucca, Patate e Salsiccia, Alla Romana—you get the idea!
