It gets better—Melbourne burger company Huxtaburger are now on-board serving up tasty burgers too! Love a late-night drink in Melbourne? Make Joey Smalls your next stop-off!

Cafes

Grub Food Van

Fitzroy cafe and restaurant Grub Food Van is one of the most beautiful spots in the area for anything from a quick coffee, to a full lunch, to an evening meal made from the local area's finest produce. The coffee-serving van itself is a permanent fixture, and the kitchen serves seasonal dishes accompanied by a great selection of local organic sodas, juices, beer and wine, largely thanks to head chef Scott Blomfield (ex-Supernormal) and gardener in residence, Ben McMenamin.

Bars & Pubs

Chuckle Park

Tucked away in a lane off Little Collins Street, Chuckle Park is definitely one of the best laneway bars in Melbourne. Grab your mates, shot gun a few chairs and enjoy the jugs of sangria and nom-worthy pork sliders.

Cafes

Chuckle Deli

Chuckle Deli in Melbourne CBD stocks all our favourite things, from smoked trout to bespoke beers, cheeses and wine, gourmet salads and sandwiches to die for. Glamp Cocktail Bar

Melbourne is full of surprises, but we’re pretty sure that there’s no other bar in the city quite as spectacular as Melbourne glamping (that’s glamorous camping for you newbies) bar, Glamp. Situated on Little Collins Street in the space above modern African restaurant polēpolē, Glamp is the *only* venue in Melbourne that will let you drink mouth-watering cocktails and nibble on African-style snacks under safari-style canvas.

Fashion

búl | Fitzroy

Relative newcomer to the Melbourne fashion game, búl in Fitzroy is a minimalist's new best friend. With a focus on quality natural fabrics, each collection draws inspiration from a unique coastal location. búl pieces are unfussy, modern wardrobe essentials, with a feel that is distinctly 'Melbourne'. When the designer (Virginia Martin) has a background that includes interning at Proenza Schouler, you know you're looking at no fashion flash-in-the-pan. Clever fashion for the understated Melbourne woman.

Fashion

Zimmermann | South Yarra

If you're not in love with Zimmermann, you're pretty much un-Australian. An icon of the Aussie fashion industry with a sexy aesthetic, Zimmermann has riden the retail waves over the years in inimitable style (and a fancy bikini). The South Yarra Zimmermann store is pocket-sized perfection—step inside to find feminine dresses galore in a great range of colours, prints and fabrics, plus easy pieces to wear every day, and those famous bikinis. A must when shopping for swimwear in Melbourne.

Fashion

Ginger & Smart

If you are looking for designer womenswear in Melbourne, chances are your first stop will be Ginger & Smart on High Street, Armadale. The savvy Sydney sisters have created a name for themselves among discerning fashionistas who favour quality, ladylike but forward-thinking fashion, rather than fleeting look-at-me trends. For a races-ready frock or cocktail dress, you really needn't pass go.

Fashion

Camilla and Marc | Armadale

Cafes

Stagger Lee’s

Bringing the good coffee to the North via the team behind Proud Mary, Stagger Lee's cafe in Fitzroy claims the title of Brunswick Street's best brew. Proudly serving all kinds of filter and drip coffee, alongside some lovely daytime drinks—wine, beer and cocktails—together with juices and milkshakes, Stagger Lee's mainly brunch based menu has something for everyone.

Cafes

Acustico

A little away from the permanently hurried nature of Sydney Road sits Acustico. Quirky and cosy, this cafés homely interior houses a range of faded furniture and mismatched items, including an endearingly old, barely working piano. The menu, like the café itself, is small but hearty. We guarantee you’ll still struggle to choose just one item from Acustico’s options.

Cafes

Albert Park Deli

Running since 1974, this particular deli has practically grown up with Melbourne’s much-loved Albert Park. Perhaps this explains their dedicated local (and non-local) following. Perhaps their daily rotating display of over 50 different home-style dishes is simply too hard to resist. Or perhaps its their outrageously long opening hours - from 5.30 am to past dinner. Either way, there’s plenty of love going around for this very special deli.

Bars & Pubs

Bar Clarine

For honest food and high-quality, natural wines, there's one wine bar in Melbourne that we'd definitely recommend! Located next door to Fitzroy restaurant Belle’s Hot Chicken, sophisticated sister venue Bar Clarine features fresh, seasonal ingredients and a delicious drinks menu. A far cry from the deep-fried, spicy menu of Belle’s, Bar Clarine's dining menu is designed to complement an extensive natural wine range, making it one of the best wine bars in Melbourne for those looking for a glass of something natural. #cleandrinking, anyone?

Cafes

Brighton Soul Espresso

We can usually get a pretty good read on a cafe menu in the first 15 seconds. And our opinion of the new spread at Brighton Soul Espresso? Instagrammable as f*ck.

Cafes

Small Block

Move aside, northside brunch emporiums! Small Block cafe in East Brunswick is one of our favourite inner north hidden gems that has a cozy atmosphere, a killer menu and some of the best coffee in Melbourne. The dishes make the most of only the freshest ingredients, and the cafe's sidestreet outdoor seating area is the perfect sunspot. We'll be seeing you soon, Small Block—save us a seat!

If you’re looking for breakfast or lunch away from hungry crowds, George Street Café offers simple, quality meals and treats. In addition to some of the best breakfasts in Melbourne, Kinfolk cafe caters to local events and gives away 100% of its profits to charity—what's not to love?!

Cafes

Grace

Away from the hustle and bustle of Brunswick Street, Grace Café provides a little bit of quiet and a lot of character. Graffitied walls, plain furniture and boutique mismatched items run rampant in this 'kind food' cafe which serves some of the best brunch in Melbourne. Grace Cafe's menu features meals which are kind to animals and the environment. We have no doubt the food will be kind on your palate and stomach too.

Cafes
