Traditional style to more inventive pizzas are on offer. We’re licking our lips over the fig and proscuitto pizza with gorgonzola, béchamel, rocket and balsamic. As well as being totally mobile, the Happy Camper crew are pretty versatile, and happy to cater for your next function too.
Mr Burger Food Truck
The Mr Burger Food Truck brings the epicness that is Mr Burger to the streets. Visiting regular spots such as the Yarraville Gardens, Fed Square and Bowen Crescent in Melbourne, the mobile meat machine is a hit wherever it goes. From the team who brought you Snow Pony and The Stables of Como comes Hawthorn's Porgie + Mr Jones, a wonderful, sustainable, local cafe that believes in real hospitality, family life and has a genuine love of food and the lifestyle that goes with it. Famous for their scrambled eggs and their perfect courtyard with beach umbrellas and massive tables, they've also extended their hours to dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, so we can now enjoy it for a post work drink and feed. Our pick? The Lychee Martini is spot on, with ginger vodka, lemon vodka, lychee syrup and lemon and elderflower. Polish off some pierogi for a truly authentic experience.

After spending time living and working in Nashville, Tennessee the duo knew they had to bring the city’s famous hot chicken to the streets of Melbourne.

1889 Cucina Povera

Using a combination of fresh, seasonal local produce and imported ingredients (cos sometimes you can't substitute that special sumthin' sumthin' from overseas!), the 1889 Cucina Povera team create some of the best Italian food in Melbourne. The team behind Hammer & Tong 412 are bringing Korean food to the streets, with the Gogi food truck. Look out for flavours like the Gogi Dog, beef and spicy pork tacos, and everyone’s ‘guilty pleasure’ favourite; Korean fried chicken. Gogi translates to meat in Korean, and that’s a food truck motto we can totally get on board with!
Naughty Boy
Brought to you by Ashley De' Hartman and Daniel Katz, Naughty Boy cafe in Princess Hill is your new favourite coffee shop. Open seven days, and serving up fine brew, brekkie and lunch, head down for some cheeky all-day pork belly scrambled eggs, with caramelised onions, chilli, brioche and a pomegranate and fennel salad. With menu items like that, it's no wonder this trendy little spot is such a ripper.
Brother Fox
A homely Hawthorn restaurant, Brother Fox is the reincarnation of Chashar Bliss. With flavours from the Middle East to South America, Brother Fox takes you on a journey through Asia and beyond. Seemingly open all the time (serving brunch, lunch and dinner) the food is good and there is service to match. A rare gem.
Cafe Gaia
Nestled in a suburban street in South Yarra, Cafe Gaia is your home away from home. This classy licensed cafe serves all day breakfasts plus yummy bits and pieces from Noisette Bakery, with coffee by Padre and Proud Mary, and a decent Bloody Mary for those in need, too. Open everyday, Cafe Gaia is a favourite for locals and the super friendly staff will make you feel like you've stepped onto the set of Cheers.
Chase Kitchen
The inner west is on the up, and with it is Chase Kitchen in Spotswood. Replicating all that is good about inner city eateries, this great café is barely a year old, bringing an industrial edge to the west. Relaxed and laid back, the food ranges from traditional breakfasts and cakes, to pulled pork burgers and slow cooked lamb. A feast for those over the bridge.

Acland St Cantina is a Mexican institution and wearer of many hats. Offering a restaurant, bar, take away and liquor store, this is a buzzing place to eat and drink with friends that you won't want to leave. The industrial fit out is broken up with brightly coloured chairs that are the perfect backdrop to late nights and cocktails. Live music and salted caramel ice cream churros tacos are our pick.
400 Gradi Cicchetti
400 Gradi Cicchetti is Johnny Di Francesco's sleek new bar, housed next door to 400 Gradi in Brunswick East. Replicating the 'bacari' – a small, intimate bar typical of Venice – 400 Gradi Cicchetti is the perfect place for a glass or two of vino, boasting an extensive range of Italian wines.
Beatrix
Beatrix is a cute, homely cafe in North Melbourne that is a locals' favourite for great coffee (by Allpress), a small menu of yummy sangas and rolls. Oh, and some of the best baked goods in Melbourne. Pastry Chef Nat Paull takes her sweet treats seriously, and her potato brioche doughnuts with lemon and sour cream icing (weekends only) are the stuff of legend. A sweet spot for brunch or curing a case of threethirtyitis.
All Day Donuts
Raph Rashid, owner of Beatbox Kitchen and Taco Truck, has tackled the sweet trade with All Day Donuts in Brunswick. Opened on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (just for now), All Day Donuts offer six or seven varieties on rotation, including the OG (original), rose crème with chocolate and raspberry sprinkles, and coffee glazed with passionfruit curd. Yum! Order a donut, get a cup of filtered Seven Seeds coffee and prepare to be transported to delicious, doughy heaven.
Mi Peru D’Carmen
Parkdale's Mi Peru D'Carmen is a favourite of South American expats, serving up home-style, authentic Peruvian food for the soul. The menu features a slew of tasty stews, such as aji de gallina, seco con frijoles and carapulcra, as well as some of the best ceviche in Melbourne. After something sweet? Their picarones, pumpkin and sweet potato doughnuts with syrup, brown sugar and figs, are a favourite with diners.
