Whether you're a Perth local in desperate need of a staycation or you're an out of towner looking for a Perth hotel that's a bit special, you'll want to book yourself a few nights at one of these stunning boutique hotels in Perth.
They've got all the little luxuries you'd expect from any good hotel, a bucket load of charm and most of them are in premo locations so you can head out on the town, experience the best of Perth and then stumble back to your room at the end of the night (if you manage to leave the hotel at all).
So without further ado, here are the best boutique hotels in Perth.
The first of its kind in Australia, Aloft Perth has popped up in Rivervale, making staycations all the more appealing. With sweeping views of the city, Perth Hills and the Swan River, Aloft is a vision of W Hotels, so you can expect uber-stylish rooms, all the modern luxuries and vibrant open spaces. From the local artwork featured throughout the hotel (by Anya Brock, David Spencer and Elle Campbell, no less) and the cheerful neighbourhood cafe, Springs Kitchen, to the 24 hour pantry, Re:Fuel, you’ll never want to leave. There’s even a Kimmy K chair in the lobby reserved exclusively for selfie opportunities. What more could you want?
Old school Fremantle hotel, the Tradewinds has undergone some massive refurbishments and the end result is, quite simply, stunning. Splash out and get yourself a suite with river views for the weekend and make the most of the standalone bathtub and the bar cart. That's right, some of the more luxe rooms come with a bar cart and all the goodies you'll need to make espresso martinis, Negronis and more! The king size bed is one of the most comfortable you'll ever come across, and the pool and deck areas are lush (if you can bring yourself to leave the room).
The Alex Hotel
Sitting in the cultural heart of Perth, The Alex Hotel is the perfect Perth hotel for those who like to eat, drink and be merry. The rooms are like little sanctuaries, but if you like a more social experience, you can kick back in the shared communal spaces. The Alex has lounge rooms, outdoor terraces and a roof garden for you to enjoy, where they offer wine, craft beer, artisan spirits, books and locally roasted coffee. There’s bike hire if you feel like going for a ride, and Shadow Wine Bar is just downstairs for cocktail hour. You don’t get much better than that.
Located right next to Kings Park and only a hop, skip and a jump away from some of the best restaurants in Perth's CBD, you'll be wishing you lived at Tribe. The rooms are simple but stunning, the communal space is homely (but much nicer than your actual home, face it) and if you don't want to go out to eat, there's a restaurant and bar there. Fab.
Pencil in Hougoumont if you’re keen for a weekend of dining and drinking in Fremantle. This boutique hotel is nestled right in the heart of our fave port city and is a stone’s throw from the cappuccino strip, markets, and Freo’s best restaurants and bars. With luxury rooms and super-friendly staff, this is the perfect spot for a cultural vaycay to soak up everything Freo has to offer.
The beautiful new Sage Hotel is the newest addition to West Perth’s hotel scene and boasts views over the city and Kings Park. Jarrah floorboards and cosy fireplaces will make you feel warm and welcome, as will the authentic Italian being served downstairs at Julio’s restaurant.
COMO The Treasury
This contemporary luxury hotel will make you never want to return home. Not only does COMO The Treasury feature a spa, gym, pool, library and the most elegant rooms and rooms you’ll ever lay eyes on; it's also home to some amazing dining options. Rooftop restaurant Wildflower serves up contemporary cuisine with beaut local produce; Post offers relaxed dining with modern Aussie cuisine; and Treasury Lounge and Bar is the perfect spot to kick back with a beer, wine or cocktail. So many activities. This might be one of the most romantic hotels in Perth, so if you've got an anniversary coming up, you know what to do!
The Local Hotel
The Local is one of our fave places to eat and drink, but you might not have known you can actually stay in one of their eight boutique hotel rooms. Individually styled by local talents, each one is as beautiful as the next. Leave your car at home and don't leave South Freo all weekend.
The Lodging, a late 1800s terrace house which has been converted into a contemporary guesthouse, is one of the coolest hotels in Perth for sure. Think white walls, black furniture with dusty pink accents, comfortable, modern four post beds and uber cool bathrooms. The fact that it's walking distance from some pretty amazing cafes, bars and restaurants doesn't hurt either.
If you like your staycations to be a bit more personal and intimate, Eight Nicholson has got you covered. This elegant boutique bed and breakfast is set in an old heritage residence, giving it a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere. Just a handful of rooms and communal living areas mean you can kick back and feel right at home; and the superb location means you can easily head out for a walk to explore the food and drink options Subi has to offer.
Attika offers luxury apartments right in the centre of Northbridge, perfect if you want to spend your staycation exploring. All the fun and excitement of Northbridge will be right on your doorstep, so you can immerse yourself in the buzz and atmosphere it has to offer. All 22 rooms at Attika are self-contained, so you can truly be left to your own devices for some well-deserved you time.
The Nest On Newcastle
Situated in the heart of Northbridge, The Nest is a perfect home away from home. In fact, you may never want to leave. The modern and unique boutique hotel sits behind The Old Crow restaurant, which dishes up southern American inspired food and local wines, beers and cocktails. The Nest offers fairly speccy views which can be enjoyed either from your balcony (because every room has one—fancy) or from their tranquil rooftop garden. Ah, the serenity.
