Sitting in the cultural heart of Perth, Alex Hotel is the perfect Perth hotel for those who like to eat, drink and be merry. The rooms are like little sanctuaries, but if you like a more social experience, you can kick back in the shared communal spaces, which feel kinda like stepping into a very cool friend's place.
The Alex has lounge areas, outdoor terraces and a roof garden for you to enjoy, where they offer wine, craft beer, artisan spirits, books and locally roasted coffee. Quay Perth wowed us from day one with the view from its Esplanade Studio rooms. Packing 80 rooms into a small footprint, the hotel is part of the Louis T Collection and features earthy tones, Victorian ash wood, clean lines and plush soft furnishings, all inspired by WA’s natural landscape.
Home to Community at Quay, a sidewalk eatery, as well as the rooftop HQ Bar & Kitchen, there aren’t many reasons to leave Quay, unless you feel like stretching your legs along the banks of the Swan.
Our favourite room features, aside from the view? The bathtubs and bay window seats. If you need a space to break out and do some work, the 24/7 co-working space on level 9 offers 180-degree views over Elizabeth Quay, private offices, meeting rooms, communal workstations and delicious coffee at your fingertips.

Old school Fremantle hotel, the Tradewinds, doesn't look so old on the inside. Splash out and get yourself a suite with river views for the weekend and make the most of the standalone bathtub. The king-size bed is also one of the most comfortable you'll ever come across, and the pool and deck areas are lush (if you can bring yourself to leave the room).
This winter they're also offering the ultimate winter wellness package which sounds like the ideal way to relax and recharge without travelling too far. The stay includes a nourishing brekky and refreshing juice, an in-room massage, a one-week pilates pass and a wellness gift pack full of feel-good gifts like healthy snacks, Aromatherapy Lab Beauty Essences, glossy magazines and more.

If you haven’t heard of Crown Towers, where’ve you been? Technically, it's more of a resort but given how gobsmackingly brilliant it is, we had to give the hotel a mention. Perth’s premier destination for a luxe staycation, it’s like stepping into a whole other world—an ultra-chic one at that.
Strut into reception and sip on a martini at The Waiting Room, then drop your bags in your stunning suite and kick back by the enormous pool area. Spend your days feasting on the buffet at Epicurean and swanning around in the luxurious spa, then wind down with a gourmet dinner. Offering a range of incredible dining experiences such as Nobu and Rockpool, Crown is the place to be if you need a little glamorous escape without straying too far from good old Perth.
