Hot Fellas Bakery Pop-Up

Sydney SATC fans unite—Hot Fellas Bakery is coming to Darlinghurst this weekend, straight out of the show’s hit sequel, And Just Like That. Anthony Marantino’s Hot Fellas are plating up freshly baked goods while stocks last, with a host of Aussie–inspired treats from A.P. Bakery: cheesy Vegemite babka, Golden Gaytime Cream puffs, and the iconic A.P. buttermilk croissant.

The pop–up is running this weekend only, so get in early—limited edition Hot Fellas merch will be available for the first few lucky attendees.

Whether you are looking for a fun date idea or weekend outing with the kids, the Darling Harbour Ice Rink has something for both experienced skaters and newbies alike. With harbourside views, this open-air rink is available for 45-minute sessions, with plenty of penguin skating aids to keep little kids (and badly balanced adults) upright. Prices start at $15 for children and $28 for adults, with penguin hire just $10.

Sunday Asado

Casa Esquina is kicking off their Sunday Asado winter series, celebrating the tradition of Argentinian open–flame cooking. Sitting at $125pp, the Asado menu features whole flame-cooked meats like suckling pig and lamb, as well as their wagyu skirt steak, crispy cauliflower with capers, fire-roasted pumpkin, and dulce de leche for dessert.

Paired with live music, a banging drinks menu, and the laid-back vibe of their courtyard seating, this is a Sunday session you won’t want to miss. Book online.

Greenwood Snow Festival

The Greenwood Snow Festival is kicking off this weekend, with exclusive DJ events, a Canada Day party, and a massive 20-metre toboggan slide with real snow. 

Friday 27 June is their ‘One Night In Aspen’ themed launch party—free entry, but we recommend booking in advance. Saturday 28 June will see an epic Canada Day party take over, with Canadian food and drinks, DJs, a free street hockey tournament, and lots of snow falling. To finish out the weekend, there'll be a massive Sunday session from 1pm to 9pm, with '90s and early '00s DJ beats. Yolŋu Power: The Art Of Yirrkala

Celebrating eight decades of works from the communities of Yirrkala, in north-east Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory, Yolŋu power: the art of Yirrkala shares the community, culture and C0untry of the Yolŋu people, through their eyes and over 300 works including video, sculpture, bark paintings, digital installations and prints. The exhibition is a collaboration with the Aboriginal-owned Buku-Larrŋgay Mulka Centre, which was launched during the ‘70s as an act of Yolŋu self-determination in the midst of the land rights movement.

In the gallery's historic World War II fuel tanks you can visit Yalu, an illuminated, large-scale work by a collective of Yirrkala artists and digital producers which is free to visit and runs until 20 July, sharing the colours and sounds of Yirrkala with representations of fires, storms, and waterways.

Adult tickets to Yolŋu power: the art of Yirrkala are $25, kids under 12 are free, and you can nab two-for-one tickets between 5pm and 10pm on Wednesday nights.

Maizon Balzac Warehouse Sale

For the lovers of quirky, colourful plates and pre-garnished martini glasses, Maizon Balzac is hosting their annual warehouse sale this weekend in Botany, and it will be well worth the drive. From 9.30am to 4pm, the iconic homeware brand is open for business, offering imperfects, prototypes, and end of series product lines. Bring your own shopping bag, card (no cash sales), and be ready to leave with some new gems for home.

San Pancho Turns One

San Pancho Mexican Taqueria marks its first birthday this Saturday 28 June—and is throwing a show–stopping fiesta in celebration. Festivities include a live mariachi performance from 6.30 to 7.30pm, all day $10 margheritas, and a social media contest with a stack of prizes. Teaming up with Jarritos Australia, this is sure to be a night of great food, music and community spirit.

FiloFomoFest

This Sunday, FiloFomoFest is taking over Paddy’s Flemington from 9am to 4.30pm, for a jam-packed celebration of Filipino Independence Day. In collaboration with the Filipino Food Movement Australia, the market will be filled with classic Filipino flavours—from lechon to lumpia.

For entertainment, take a moment to watch the Filipino hip-hop or traditional Tinikling dancers. For the more vocally inclined, there’s a karaoke booth, and plenty of market stalls for those who just want to shop or take treats home. Bring the kids to this one—a storytelling corner, craft activities, free soft play and a jumping castle should keep them busy.

Gin And Jazz

‘Tis the season for cosy Sunday sessions, and Gin and Jazz at The Apollo is no exception. From May through September, the taverna will transform into a jazz lounge on the last Sunday of the month, with live music from 12 to 4pm.

Do yourself a favour and book their optional $95pp set menu—a pink gin martini on arrival is followed by a banquet feast, featuring oven-baked lamb shoulder, saganaki cheese and other Mediterranean inspired picky bits. Reservations available online.

Manly Pavilion Ski Village

If the chilly Sydney mornings have you craving a proper Euro winter, head over to Manly Pavilion this weekend—the entire precinct is transforming into a European–style alpine village for the RISE festival, packed with winter specials like steaming mulled wine, Skrewball peanut butter whiskey ski shots, platters with gooey baked tomino cheese, and s'mores.

For those who can’t pass up a party, the Espy is putting on an aprés–ski this Saturday—complete with snow, DJs and a dance floor from 4pm until late. Felons Manly is putting on ten days of free late–night live music as part of Manly’s RISE festival, kicking off this weekend. Each night will feature a different act, celebrating emerging talent in jazz, funk, indie and experimental genres.

In true Felons style, there will be an accompanying tipple straight from the tap: Felons’ Imperial Stout, a limited-edition, once-yearly release known and loved for its bold, velvety profile. Entry is free, but we recommend booking here to secure a table.

Loco Markets 

South Eveleigh | Thursdays–Sundays until 27 July

South Eveleigh’s inaugural Loco Markets are kicking off this weekend—a rotating schedule of themed markets paired with exclusive South Eveleigh heritage tours and workshops. Expect bold, block coloured market stalls, and a lineup of handmade goods, design–led retail, food and drink pop-ups, loads of family-friendly spaces and workshops, and live entertainment.

Each week will be a different experience, beginning with a line-up of artisan design (19–22 June), followed by produce and wellness (26–29 June), design and sustainability (3–6 July), NAIDOC Week (10–13 July) and Christmas in July (17–20 and 24–27 July).

Truffle Brunch

Surry Hills icon Nomad has brought back its annual Truffle Brunch on Sundays. Expect an earthy a la carte adventure dedicated to the fine delicacy, with tasty dishes crafted by head chef Lakhan Bhounsle, including a three-cheese manoosh, ham hock hash brown, cauliflower cacio e pepe with wood-roasted mushroom, Jersey milk chocolate magnums, and cinnamon buns with a miso caramel glaze—all injected with Western Australian truffle. Titanic. The Human Story

After sold-out shows across America, the UK, and Brisbane, Titanic. The Human Story has docked in Sydney. This exhibition commemorates the human experiences aboard the infamous sunken ship. Visitors should expect a unique narrative experience, following the anecdotes of both passengers and crew through original, handwritten letters, photographs, keepsakes, and personal belongings.

Coriolanus

Drawing parallels between the political structures of ancient Rome and contemporary global politics, Bell Shakespeare's production of Coriolanus hits a Sydney/Eora stage for the first time in thirty years. And the time couldn't be more ripe for an intimate, immersive staging of this oft-overlooked piece from Shakespeare's canon.

Artistic Director Peter Evans says, "It is not just a political play, it is a reflection on the complexities of power, human nature, and societal structures. At its core, the play also unfolds a family drama, as Shakespeare weaves a story not only about a city in crisis, but about the influence of family dynamics within that world.” Tickets are available online from $50.

Cerith Wyn Evans....In Light Of The Visible

Welsh contemporary artist and sculptor Cerith Wyn Evans presents his first ever exhibition in Australia, Cerith Wyn Evans….in light of the visible at the Museum of Contemporary Art. His towering neon light installations create an immersive environment of light and sound, inviting guests to discover the exhibition as if they are wandering through a garden. 

Major works include Sydney Drift (2025), hanging sculptural forms inspired by Sydney Harbour; F=O=U=N=T=A=I=N (2020), a three-metre-tall white neon wall audiences can walk through; and Composition for 37 Flutes (2018), 37 glass pipes breathing sound into the gallery. Book tickets online from $20 for adults and $16 for concessions.
