100 Things To Do In Melbourne

Looking for things to do in Melbourne? Join the club. There's just so much to do in Melbourne. Every bloody day there's a new festival (you can't get rid of them). Every day a new pop-up-food-truck-cum-silent-opera-disco. Melbourne is a city with a terminal case of 'Ooh, what's that shiny thing over there?' A craze sweeps the city, then it's on to the next thing. New restaurant, secret bar, fresh-cooked boutique cinema. New York may be the city that never sleeps, but Melbourne is the city that never stops.

All that choice can be a little overwhelming, so we've narrowed it down for you. 100 excellent things to do in Melbourne. A little food, a few board games, a bit of kitschy touristy sight-seeing (nothing wrong with that). If you're visiting our fair city for the first time, consider this your spotter's guide.

  1. Browse the latest exhibition at the NGV. Or just lie on the floor of the Great Hall and stare up at that stained-glass ceiling.
  2. Pick up a paperback at one of Melbourne’s second-hand bookstores.
  3. Work out your inner demons at the Melbourne Break Room.
