With a seasonal menu that is always changing, there's always a good reason to stop by Timber Cafe in Harrisdale. They've got a huge variety of coffees and teas and a menu that looks too good to be true... think seasonal brioche French toast and honey butter fried chicken burgers—OMG. The interior boasts an amaze-balls scandi vibe with timber everywhere—we just can't get enough of this place!

Nestled in next to Kailis Trigg Beach, Canteen is dishing out all sorts of seafood goodness in one of the most relaxing settings in Perth. Order at the counter then grab a table outside and soak up the view. With fish tacos, delicious poke bowls, tempting salad trays and some lip-smackingly good breakfasts on the menu, you're going to want to visit this gem over and over again.

Serving fresh and seasonal eats for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Little Guildford is a real gem of a cafe. From the rustic tables and old school wooden chairs to the shelves filled with vintage knick knacks, the cafe fits in perfectly with its Guildford surroundings. We recommend grabbing a table by one of the big windows, ordering an extra large cup of joe and taking in the sights of this lovely, leafy part of town.

The Little Bakery in Nedlands make some of the tastiest cupcakes we’ve had the pleasure of trying. They’re baked to just the right size with the perfect level of sweetness—the kind of cupcake you could definitely go back for seconds for. With flavours spanning from the standard chocolate and vanilla to coconut, cookies and cream and red velvet, The Little Bakery also make celebration cakes and seriously excellent biscuits (think: melting moments, florentines and chocolate chip).

Willie Wagtail pumps out some of the best coffe in Northbridge. With two coffee machines constantly on the go and a cabinet jam-packed full of sweet treats, perfect on-the-go brekkies and lunchtime goodies, this is your one stop shop for a foodie fix. We're talking pulled pork rolls, PB&J muffins, mango brownies and all of the bacon.

Tucked away among the trees in Roleystone, Genesis in the Hills dishes out some of Perth's best vegetarian and vegan eats. Everything on the menu is homemade with local and organic ingredients wherever possible—think veggo lasagne, smoothie bowls, cold-pressed juices and raw desserts. Head in on the first Saturday of the month and you'll also get to hear from local jazz musicians while you munch on your goodies. Put it on your Hills hit-list stat!

Conveniently located on the coolest little street in East Fremantle (George Street), the Pilates Centre WA offers up reformer classes lead by some of the best instructors around town. The studio’s 60-year-old owner Trudy, has a bangin’ body which has become the envy and the inspiration for all of her students, and she offers up a pretty sweet unlimited monthly membership package which allows you to attend one class every day the studio is open. You’ll need to book in for this one and be sure to schedule sessions around your George Street brunch hangs—it’s all about the balance!

Winning the award for the coolest barber shop fit out in Perth (they’ve got top hat lights hanging from the ceiling!), His Lid in Subiaco know exactly what men want when it comes to getting their lid did! 

Located in a gorgeous old heritage house, North Perth skincare clinic La Belle Peau is the vision of former Telstra Young Businesswoman of the Year and bonafide skin whisperer, Kim Tran. Incorporating the very latest in cosmeceutical and dermal science technology, Kim and her talented team have a passion for skincare and their legion of loyal Perth fans are proof that the La Belle Peau team get results.

Possibly Perth’s best food truck, Jumplings Tasty Dumplings fry up some killer gyoza (Japanese-style pan-fried dumplings). The chicken, duck and vego varieties are menu staples, but if you’re lucky you might get to try the prawn, chilli crab or scallop Jumplings. To carb things up a notch, have your Jumplings served bowl style with udon noodles, cabbage and coriander, topped with homemade chilli and truffled ponzu sauces. Jumplings just opened up a stall in the Raine Square food court, which means a dumplings fix just got a whole lot more convenient for city workers!

Some of Perth's best burgers are served up by our mates at Hoodburger. They're stacked sky high and filled with goodness like onion rings, fried chicken and chips. You can find these guys dishing out the goods from their shopfront at Northbridge's Old Shanghai. Keep an eye on their Facebook page to see what kind of delights they are pumping out of their test kitchen; last we saw it was a mash and gravy burger.

Mosman Park's Bittersweet Bake has to be one of the best bakeshops in town. Walking in you'll be overwhelmed by the glass cabinet filled with beautiful sweet treats and lunchtime eats. Cakes are made especially to order for all your big occasions, but they also have a few take-away goodies if you don't have time to plan ahead. The baguettes are out of control and the quiches will knock your socks off!

House Of Ten is the nail and waxing salon Perth always wanted.

Getting your hair done should be nothing less than luxurious and that's exactly what you'll get when you visit Studio Luxe in Mosman Park. Housed in a beautiful building with high ceilings, wooden floors, a fireplace and marble details, the hairdressers at Studio Luxe really know their stuff when it comes to hair. You better book in quick smart as these ladies are booking up!

Ninja Academy in Osborne Park is a premier mixed movement and obstacle training gym that has the most intense and hectic Ninja Warrior style course in Oz. The Perth gym also has various workshops in handstands, gymnastics and functional movement training. Jambo Cafe in Fremantle needs to be your next stop for a quick and cheap lunch pick-me-up. When your life savings have dwindled to spare change, head down to this joint and the guys will be sure to hook you up. The half-wrap is a mere $2.50 and on Fridays, you can get charcoal-grilled yakitori chicken for $3. Who could say no to that?!

The Dough Room is the latest and greatest Italian pizzeria to hit the streets of Attadale! With exposed brick everywhere, a slightly rustic interior and the baddest woodfire pizza oven we've ever seen, this place makes your jaw drop as soon as you walk in. The pizzas are next level insane as well. House made bases with flour flown in from Italy and topped with only the freshest ingredients. It doesn't get much better then that.

Perth's newest little hole-in-the-wall coffee spot is now serving all the lords and ladies of perth with their amazing brew and delicious treats. Lord Coffee (opposite NIB Stadium) is pretty hard to miss with its awesome black and white graphics painted on the walls. They take coffee orders via text if you're in a hurry and serve some pretty specky banana bread and other loaves to fill your tummy. You can even drive through—heck yes!

With a menu that blends flavours from the land and sea, you can expect food crafted for maximum nourishment and flavour, featuring organic and local produce at Heirloom in East Perth. Just a two minute walk from Queens Gardens and with a view that could kill, this beautifully designed restaurant will be sure to wow any crowd.

If you're after a rad new hairstyle, you definitely need to hit up Bec from Game Of Braids. This girl is loaded with talent and can transform your head into the most epic creation using the humble braid. She works out of her home and gets booked up like crazy so make sure you get in quick! Searching for a book on female sheds or the life and times of Alibaba founder Jack Ma? You’ll find it at Boffins Books in the Perth CBD. Stocking a huge range of technical manuals as well as cookbooks, the latest fiction and kids bestsellers, Boffins have also set up a pretty impressive online store. Nothing beats a browse in real time at this awesome Perth Bookshop.

If you're after delicious and cheap South-East Asian delicacies look no further than Old Lane Street Eats in Northbridge. The menu at this little China Town eatery really packs a punch with everything from bao, satay and curry dishes to juicy noodles and fragrant rice. Do your tastebuds a favour and order the Roti John (a chilli-cheeseburger-tasting bun filled with beef, egg, onion, sambal, Sriracha and kewpie mayo) and the Marmite Chicken Bao (boneless chicken, cucumber, carrot, spring onion, kewpie and Marmite sauce). You won't be disappointed!

Part of the City Beach redevelopment, Rise Pizza is dishing it up a little bit differently. You get to choose your fave pizza toppings from the list of fresh ingredients and in three short minutes you'll have your masterpiece in your hot little hands. The dough is fermented for 36 hours so it will be perfectly fluffy every time and the crew here are making one—and only one—size, the perfect single serving. Can we get a hell yes to not sharing your pizza?!

Tucked down Old Theatre Lane in Claremont, The Lane Bookshop is worth dragging yourself away from the Quarter for. Their eclectic collection covers everything from science fiction and philosophy to architecture and performing arts, as well as fiction and children’s books. If you can’t find what you’re looking for The Lane will happily order it in for you.

Housed in a cute little building on High Street, New Edition Bookshop in Fremantle is one of Perth's best bookstores.

We love a bookstore that’s open late, and Oxford St Books in Leederville is no exception. Stocking all your regular bookshop finds as well as some killer biographies, some of the best art and coffee table books, travel tomes and an impressive range of YA and kids fiction, Oxford St Books is the place to go if you’re running late for your friends b-day party and don’t have a present yet. They’ve got a very impressive collection of cards!

Where pre-loved books wait for new love—if you’ve got your eye on a particular tome head to Elizabeth’s where you might strike gold for a fraction of the price. If you’re not too sure what to read next why not try Liz’s Blind Date With A Book—a gift wrapped mystery book, you can choose the lucky book using the hints on the front cover. What have you got to lose? This is definitely one of Perth's best bookshops.

Kaleido Books & Gifts in the Perth CBD is our saviour when we’re dreading that long and boring ride home on the train. Divided into categories like How To Be Betterer (self-development), Something Feigned, Invented or Imagined (fiction) and Coming Of Page (young adult), Kaleido strikes the perfect balance between quirky and cool, and if we’re being honest we’ve missed many a train perusing the shelves here.

Unfortunately, grocery shopping is part of our daily lives, but it’s not all about the big chain supermarkets, people.The Herdsman in Churchlands is one of the best gourmet supermarkets in Perth and with a deli, bakery, butcher and florist, there’s no way you’re leaving empty handed. The staff here try each and every one of the products stocked to give it their tick of approval, and it shows! It's hard to say what are favourite section of the supermarkets is, but we know for sure that their picnic hamper which includes cheese, meats, salads, dips, bread AND crackers is a winner! It all comes in a handy little thermo bag so you can grab it on your way to the picnic—that's what we call winning.

Hair salon Renos On St Quentin is sitting pretty in Claremont Quarter and is doing a stellar job keeping the ladies and gents of Claremont looking their best. The salon is b-e-a-utiful, the team here is next level amazing and it's the only place where you will actually hope to get left at the basin for a while because you get to watch all your fave rom-coms (with sub-titles of course) while you get your hair washed. The team here will have you feeling like a whole new person in no time. 

There aren’t too many things that are better than sitting down to lunch overlooking the Indian Ocean in Cottesloe on a stunning Perth day and one of the best spots to do this is Cott & Co. Overlooking Cottesloe beach, the modern and stylish restaurant has a rustic feel, while still feeling breezy, fun and beachy. The menu is all about local and seasonal produce here, with seafood the star attraction.

Crow Books in East Victoria Park is a delightful little Perth bookstore. The shelves are packed with hard-to-find books and popular reads, and their staff recommendations are pretty spot on. This place has that amazing old book smell that makes you want to curl up with a tea and a bloody good read. P.S. Look for the cookie dough diet book!

Diabolik Books & Records is another little pop culture hive in Mount Hawthorn. Among the fiction and non-fiction reads, you’ll find a quality selection of comic books and graphic novels, lowbrow, art and music tomes, notebooks, games and gifts. And on top of all that they stock a killer selection of records—it’s got everything you’d want from a bookstore and more!

Planet Books is all that remains of the once booming pop culture corner of Mount Lawley and we hope it stays put for years to come because it is one of our favourite Perth bookstores. With an impressive fiction collection, including everything from the classics to modern best sellers, and an even more impressive range of non-fiction books (the cookbook collection is madness), the guys at Planet are super sweet and always willing to throw a recommendation your way.

This barbershop will leave the lads feeling phresshhhh so you can walk around town with that extra little bit of swagger you never knew you had. Housed behind the ever so popular Brooklyn Lounge, this bad boy will allow you to eat a burger straight after your sweet old school shave.

The name says it all folks, Bagels & Beans in West Perth is the perfect place to stop off for lunch or brekky on a work day and pick up some delicious freshly baked breads and a good brew. They've got bagels galore as well as fresh wraps and a wide range of salads to choose from. 

Academy in Claremont is serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner using only the highest quality ingredients. Head chef Jay Tesorero who used to cook for the stars (like ABBA... seriously!) has found a new home in Claremont and we're loving it. Academy is a little bit fancy but with a relaxed and laid back atmosphere—the perfect combination if you ask us. Their breakfast menu looks so delicious but it's the dinner menu that has us excited. We'll take the lamb cutlets with green pea puree, chèvre, red wine jus and chat potatoes please.

Stocking some of the best homewares, gifts and accessories in Perth, it's definitely worth the drive up the hill to visit First Avenue Kitchen & Home in Kalamunda. Think luxe cookware (hello Chasseur), a massive range of furniture, candles, soft furnishings and everything you need to make your home that little bit more special. Be warned, your time and money will disappear quickly when you visit First Avenue!

Life Less Ordinary in Wembley is full of beautiful homewares, jewellery and gifts. Grab your daily brew from Workshop Espresso next door and then treat yourself to something pretty. These guys also stock some of the most amazing scented candles and hand creams so you'll walk out feeling all sorts of relaxed.

Henry on Eighth is keeping the Maylands locals caffeinated, fed and a little bit boozy every day of the week. This cafe come bar is dishing up rad coffee, delish bites and some killer cocktails. The place is uber cool and is the kind of bar you want to spend the entire afternoon in having a quiet drink. Hit them up for a cocktail on the weekend or breakfast if you're more of a morning person. 

Bowl'n in Perth put smoothies in a bowl and they do it well! These bad boys are the latest craze to hit the healthy freaks' to-do lists and we can't get enough of them either. Pick a smoothie base, choose some fruit, seeds and berries and voila! You've got yourself a delicious and healthy brekky on the go. These peeps also do some of the best salads and lunch bowls as well as a wicked  cold brew.

Mad Dogs Jungle Bar is a small bar in Perth's CBD and is basically the perfect Friday night drink spot. Think rad drinks, tasty bites likes burgers and wings and an awesome vibe.  The crew here also rock out on Saturday nights with a DJ spinning tunes and do a few mid-week deals which seem like the perfect excuse for a Monday outing.

No Lights No Lycra in Perth is THE place to go to truly dance like no one is watching—because it's pitch black and no one is watching! Every Monday night at Leederville Town Hall you can put on your dancing shoes and dance the night away—alcohol free and judgment free. While it might take a song or two to get into it the first couple of times you go, by the end of the party you'll be counting down the days until the next week!

Park and Vine in City Beach is a true locals' spot where you can pop in for breakfast after a beach run or hit it up for date night or a drink with the gals. You can easily while away a whole night here with a glass of wine in hand a few sharing dishes, or stroll in on Sunday and take your pick from their delish all day brunch menu. Whatever you do, try the bao and thank us later.

If you're in need of a new morning coffee hook-up before work make sure you try out Mercado Negro on Pier street in our CBD. They have a massive range of sweets and treats for those of you who like to indulge in the morning but also some savory goodies that they serve up during lunch. The decor is cool, edgy  and colourful and features a hectic blackboard wall to feast your eyes on. FYI: they also get a Top Dup doughnut delivery mid week. You're welcome.

Peppermint Grove's Monogram Caffe is the perfect place to order a fresh brew and some brekky and then sit on the deck and soak up Perth's beautiful sunshine. Head into the The Grove Library to find this hidden gem tucked away amongst all the books. They have daily specials for you to scope out so you can go back every day and never get bored!

If you're looking for huge 22" pizzas sold by the slice, Mount Lawley's Mack Daddy's New York Slice pizzas are the biggest, cheesiest and most drool-worthy slices of pizza we've had.

This classic little cafe is the perfect place for your regular morning cup of joe. The guys and gals behind the counter welcome you with a smile and whip up your order pronto. You can have a gander in their cabinet to see if there's a sweet treat that tickles your fancy or wait outside in the sunshine and they'll pass your beverage through the window.

The hills are alive with the sound of rustic Sicilian food and plenty of Italian wine thanks to La Fattoria in Pickering Brook. Get down there pronto for lunch, just like Nonna makes it, and vino from La Fattoria's very own vines. Don't forget to pick up some fresh fruit and veggies from the orchard on your way out. 

Lamonts has expanded to include a delightful little cafe in the Swan Valley where you can get tasty meals to go, a good range of cheeses, freshly baked bread, dips and so much more. Little Lamonts Express also do excellent coffee!

A Mediterranean restaurant with a French twist, Bloody French in Subiaco is serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner and the locals are lapping it up. With BYO night on Monday nights, $10 espresso martinis on Friday and one heck of a wine list, we can understand why they'd want to keep this place their little secret!

St Lucy is sitting pretty on Rokeby Road in Subiaco and the team are brewing excellent coffee and dishing out awesome salads, delish bagels and all sorts of baked goodness. Pop in for a quick lunch and grab a cold pressed juice or cold drip coffee while you're there.

The team behind Cafe New Orleans is bringing Southern-inspired soul food to the people of Fremantle and they are loving it. Located in Freo’s west end, they’re dishing up Cajun and creole cuisine with locally roasted coffee and sweet treats. Get yourself a po'boy filled with meat, cajun mayo and Louisiana hot sauce or some waffles with fried chicken and call it a day.

Exhale Espresso on Lord Street in Perth is a coffee shop and pilates studio all in one, so you can go for a sweat sesh and follow it up with breakfast. The food is fresh, simple and freakin' delicious and the coffee is excellent. The pink pitaya and mango smoothie is probably the prettiest drink we've ever seen and it tastes just as good as it looks!

Sohe Thai Fusion in Bicton is dishing out modern Thai food and everything is absolutely drool-worthy. The mango salad is one of the freshest and tastiest things you'll ever eat and the fried rice is also pretty exceptional. If you're a south-sider we think Sohe might just become your new local.

A new addition to the North Beach cafe scene, 96 degrees is brewing some of the best coffee in Perth. Specialising in quality coffee, they have their own bespoke blend and a cold drip nitrogen-infused coffee that'll knock your socks off.

Toastface Grillah got a little brother and he lives in Northbridge! Lil’ Toastface has opened in the space that used to be Bookend and is dishing out a slightly smaller menu of delicious toasties. If you've never had the pleasure of biting into one of their toasties, do yourself a favour and get here immediately. They're only open for lunch at the moment, but word on the street is they'll be opening in the evening soon enough. Yasss!

You've probably walked past Tong 86 a million times and never noticed it or been tempted to go inside, but let me tell you, this is one of Perth's best Korean BBQ joints. Yes, you sit on dodgy old chairs and yes, the interiors are nothing to write home about, but the food is delicious. Especially the kimchi stew and the kimchi pancake (fan, much?). Make sure you dip your BBQ meats in the peppery peanut oil dressing and wrap them up in a lettuce leaf, it's so good!

Yet another Northbridge restaurant we love, Frank'd Hotdogs are dishing out top quality hotdogs left right and centre to all the hungry peeps in Northbridge. With the best of the best bratwurst from Elmar's and buns from Organic Loafers you know these are gonna be dee-licious! Take your pick from one of the 12 flavour combos on offer and why not grab a side of chilli cheese fries while you're there?

Little Cheese Shop in Bayswater is dedicated to everything cheese related! With specialty cheeses from all over the world this adorable little shop on Whatley Crescent also stocks cheese knives, boards and quirky knick knacks for anyone with a penchant for the yellow yummy stuff. No need to worry about putting together a cheese board for your next party, the Little Cheese Shop can do this for you, they’ll even help you host a cheese event in your home. Pop in for a visit the next chance you get and sample the goods.
