That’s right everyone, despite what the rest of the world seems to believe, Sydney does actually get rain. We’re not taking that excuse to stay in bed though - here are some reasons to dust off your winter coat.

Mekong's Feast for the Senses Banquet dinner

Get ready to be guided through Southeast Asia by the River Spirit this weekend. Mekong is holding a delicious Feast for the Senses Banquet in celebration of Chippendale New World Art Prize 2016. This feast will take you from the streets of Burma with the chickpea pancake to a humble Cambodian home with the famous “Grandma in the Garden” curry. This is food from the soul, for the soul. Not to be missed!

It’s back again for the month of June - Burgers and Beats is Sydney’s newest Fri-yay party! This months lineup will see Milky Lane, Bare Grill & Cafe and Big Bunz come together with 4 Pines, Brookvale Union Ginger Beer and Coors to deliver some Burgers, Beers and Beats (surprise!). What better way to kick off the weekend than with a warehouse party and some of your favourite things? Don’t let the rain keep you in - this is gonna be a party for the ages (or at least until the next one).

Parlour X End of Season Sale

We all know what the beginning of winter brings. No, we’re not talking rain and electric blankets - we’re talking end of season sales, and this one is not to be ignored. Parlour X will be reducing SS16 lines from major brands such as Balenciaga, YSL and Chloe by 30-50% this weekend. Saturday Sweat Session with The Jungle Body

This Saturday the guys from The Jungle Body are hosting a Sweat Session with Founder Tara Simich & Head Choreographer Shereice Söderberg that will kick that runny nose right out the door. The KONGA workout will combine Boxing, Cardio, Dance & Pilates for the most fierce routine you’ve ever even thought about. Expect to sweat at this one.

Carriageworks Night Market

Carriageworks night market is sure to warm your soul this weekend. Going with the theme ‘Cooking with Fire’, they’ve got over 50 of our favourite names to transform some of the best NSW produce into inspired food offerings, right in front of your eyes. The night market will bring together stalls from all of your faves including Billy Kwong, Thievery and Young Henrys to celebrate the best that NSW has to offer under the lights of Vivid. This is worth getting out the winter coat for.

The Grounds Markets

We’ve all been there, wandering aimlessly through the garden while waiting for a table at The Grounds. This weekend why not check out the new Grounds Markets, held in the old Salt Meats Cheese storehouse. Showcasing 80 stalls each week, The Grounds are keen to support local producers and with offerings such as Chunky Dave’s Peanut Butter and The Backyard Picklery on the reg, who wouldn't wanna browse the aisles? With Live Music from local artists from 10am and a rotating roster of stallholders, we might even make this a weekly outing.

Sunday 5th June

MS Walk & Fun Run

This Sunday head on down to Olympic Park to join in on the MS Walk & Fun Run. Raising money and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis, this event is a great way to motivate yourself out of bed this Sunday. Wear Red to support those living with MS and join in the Fun Run from 8:50am or, if walking is more your style, join in from 10:25 and bring your pup along!

When: Sunday 5th June (8:50 for the run or 10:25 for the walk)

Oxford Tavern & Ze Pickle Pop-up

Sunday will see burger legends Ze Pickle take over the Oxford Tavern kitchen to serve up their four tasty, tasty classics. For one day only the two Sydney Institutions will collab for (which is undoubtedly going to blow our minds) a burger that includes the succulent smoked meat off of the Black Betty American smoker. This is a first-in best-dressed type deal though so if you should get in early because they will sell out.

Rescue Your Fitness Pack Run

Any excuse to hang out with dogs is good with us. Recuse your Fitness is teaming up with Monika’s Doggie Rescue to bring awareness to one of our favourite causes - doggie rescue. The dogs in Monkia’s recuse need a day out and we need an excuse to exercise in winter and this is the perfect way to combine the two! Help raise funds and find a forever home for these pups!

Cafe Ananas Sunday Brunch

Sunday Brunch is a phrase that brings a smile to everyone's face - what could be better after a nice lie in than the perfect collaboration of breakfast and lunch? Cafe Ananas is bringing fresh squeezed juice and sensational seafood together in it’s inaugural Sunday Brunch Menu. This epic buffet will see you oh-so-elegantly stuffing your faces with steak tartare, Croque Madames and egg dishes such as omlettes and eggs Benedict. If you want a little extra, go teh a la carte menu which involves a bit of spicy lobster spaghetti and vanilla French toast.
