Paddo Collective Live Music & Art Week

Paddo Collective is putting on a smorgasbord of live music and artsy events, kicking off on Wednesday 28 January. On the lineup is artist Joshua Searle’s exhibition The Birds Who Drank the Sun at Saint Cloche Gallery; Latin-American gem Tequila Mockingbird’s Street Sessions with $15 margs and $12 tacos backed by live rock, pop and folk hits on Thursday 5 Feb; the Wine Library’s free-entry Discothèque ‘70s and ‘80s party on Friday 6 Feb; and Arvo Sessions at The Paddington on Sunday 8 Feb, plus heaps more happenings.
Haus Of Marigold

Asian-owned brands and creatives are coming together for Haus Of Marigold, an early Lunar New Year celebration featuring pop-up stalls and ticketed workshops on Saturday 31 January.
Hosted by the legends at Matcha Meets Sydney and Soul of Chinatown, stalls will be set up on Level 4 of the former Marigold restaurant, including ceramics by Cee Cee Studios, illustrations by Art Of Pei, Vietnamese snacks by Oi/oi Collective, handmade Chinese pastries by Glazely, free polaroids by Bly Photobooth and more.
There’s also a teacup painting workshop by Cee Cee Studios, a ceremonial matcha tasting workshop with Satori Tea House and Matcha Meets Sydney and a calligraphy workshop by Studio Yu Mei. As a bonus, all workshop attendees will receive a complimentary matcha from Matcha Mitu.
The party carries on for Night at the Marigold, an after-dark event starring Asian DJs Riri, DJ Pluggy and Lo Sai Sai Lo spinning tracks from 8pm til late, with matcha drinks pouring all night from Matcha Mitu.Tickets are $25, with part of the proceeds going towards Soul of Chinatown's Rice Fund, helping elderly Asian-Australians.
Sun Run

Sydney’s Northern Beaches is hosting a fun Sun Run this weekend, with over 10,000 keen walkers, joggers and sprinters on the track. Starting at The Strand in Dee Why, the course winds through Curl Curl, Freshwater and Queenscliff before finishing at the South Steyne in Manly. The event is sold out, but it's the perfect opportunity to support the runners and celebrate with a crisp drink or a fat feed afterwards.
Caviar Croissants At Bano Pastries

Flaky croissants loaded with caviar are on the cards for one day only at the Bano Pastries pop-up in Zetland’s East Village. The sweet and salty combo is a collaboration with Caviar Tin and will come in very limited quantities. Get there early on Saturday 31 January to score the special treat.
NSW Wine Cellar Door

Six savvy grape enthusiasts (aka winemakers) are bringing their cellar doors to The Rocks Market for NSW Wine Cellar Door.
Big names involved include the winners of the Orange’s Cellar Door of the Year for 2025-2026 Highland Heritage, Hunter Valley heavyweights Petersons Wines and Saddler’s Creek, Canberra Wine District’s The Poacher’s Vineyard, Japanese winemaker Atsuko Radcliffe’s Small Forest and the modern Latitude 32 Wines.
The markets are free entry with three tastings for $5 per winery and wines by the glass for $10. Last drinks are served at 4.30pm.

Woollahra Hotel is delving right into the AO energy with its Tennis on the Terrace pop-up. The games are being blown up on the big screen on The Terrace with limited-edition AO food specials to match, curated by Bistro Moncur Head Chef Tom Deadman. Think chicken finger sandos and baguettes loaded with roasted pork belly, chargrilled steak or tiger prawns.

With the heat dialled all the way up this summer, Macquarie Ice Rink’s re-opening couldn’t have come at a better time. An inner-city institution since 1981, the Olympic-sized rink spent most of 2025 undergoing a multi-million-dollar glow-up—and now it’s officially back. Expect a pristine new ice surface, slick tech upgrades and modern amenities.
They also have a disco session every Friday and Saturday night from 8.30pm to 10.30pm. Including skate hire, all session tickets are $32 for adults, $29 for students, $28 for children under 16 years and $12 for children under 5 years with a paying adult.
